Spent a great day on the pontoon with 2 of the greatest hosts one could ever hope for. We had a group of 16 (8 adults and 8 kids) so we had the whole pontoon, which fit us all very comfortably. Upon arrival we were graciously greeted by Brandon (Big B) and Dory, who led us upon a wonderful day of cruising, docking at a secluded beach, snorkeling, playing beach football, hanging out at Crab Island, eating and drinking.
The boat was fully stocked with plenty of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, and we were welcome to bring whatever alcoholic drinks we pleased as well.
Big B and Dory told us many great stories of the area, fishing tales, and made sure the kids learned about certain sea-life.
Everybody had a great time and I cannot recommend them enough for their customer service (they made sure everyone was always happy, and provided suggestions on what to do).
At the end, they took us for an extra 30-45 minutes on a guided dolphin cruise.
Great day all around!

From beginning to end EVERYONE was smiling, helpful and friendly! Captain Zack and first mate Brandon were first class! I did a LOT of research before scheduling a company to boat us out to crab island. BENEFITS: 1. the staff is excellent and experienced. 2. Not every vessel has a bathroom on board, but THEY DO (important when you are in the middle of a large body of water). 3. When pricing I found that they offer the following that others do not: shuttle from the office to the launch area, bathroom, unlimited drinks and snacks for VIP (some companies offer nothing). 4. Price was very reasonable when compared to others. I was able to do some snorkeling and saw some cool fishes and crabs. The music playlist was family friendly. Mostly we just chilled out and enjoyed the beauty and laid back vibes and conversation. For us, the length of time (3 hours) was perfect. I would book again with them!

Sad that you haven’t traveled internationally but want to feel like you are in Ibiza, Spain then take the Crab Island Water Taxi Tour with Captain Fine (aka Mike) and his Skipper, Mr. Slim.
We were fortunate to have a Bride’s party on our tour so there was lots of celebration. The gentleman are very attentive and ensure all their guests have everything they need. I highly recommend this cultural experience you can only get on Crab Island. We had tubes and rafts if we wanted to take it easy and catch some sun rays or you could play volleyball, pong, or throw a football around if you want some water activities. Singing out loud is highly encouraged and we didn’t even have to have liquid encouragement to participate.
Our girls trip was filled with some great memories today. You won’t regret it!

Very disappointed!! First of all our trip was booked for 12:30- 3:30, they were running behind because of the Trump rally on the river which was no problem but i felt that our excursion was cut short due to the time it took us to get to Crab Island as your 3 hour excursion starts from the time that you leave the dock which took us over 30 minutes to get to Crab Island. We paid extra and was told that we would have free floats and that there would be picnic type seating with shade in the water. There was neither. My daughter walked in the water with one of the workers to another boat that was docked in the water which took them 20 minutes there and back to bring the already blown up floats that they put on a rope and pulled 10 of them back so that we all could have one. By the time she got back she only had about 30 minutes to enjoy herself. Was very disappointed!! We had to pay over $100 because it was a holiday weekend and believe me it was not worth our time!!

I booked my husband and I the 3-7p slot for crab island. I deliberately chose this company because I wanted 4 hrs. Once checked in was advised you only get 2 hrs on crab island and the rest is a dolphin cruise/harbor cruise with sunset( sun doesn't set til 8p though so not really..) No where anywhere does it say this that I could find on their website. The crew was fine, the boat was fine but I'm kinda not happy I paid $201 for 2 people for 2 hrs on crab island. Oh! And they state they have snorkel gear and balls and such. There was 2 masks and 1 snorkel, 2 footballs, 1 volleyball and a soaker ball. The "storage" is "leave your stuff on the benches on the boat". They told a lady she couldn't smoke a cigarette on the boat but 4+ people were vaping opening sitting next to the captain. Just really not impressed. Wish I woulda went with another company. What we paid/ was told we would have and what we actually got were not the same.

We recently went on crab island tour. It was a blast once we finally got on boat. We had rain chances day of our tour. It was 2 hours until trip was called so kind of disappointing wasted that time on vacation. But the day was yucky and we went out next day and it was beautiful. I would recommend to take you own alcohol as they do not serve or sell on trip. We paid the extra fir snacks and drinks. They do not specify it is Variety chips, soda and waters. $30 was a ripoff fir snacks. The boat ride, entertainment was a blast. Information and direction needs some work. Not enough seats fir number of people on the tour.

I’m typically not one to post reviews, but I have no other choice. This company refuses to respond to my calls or emails.
We had a huge storm ruin our day at Crab Island. I understand you cannot control weather, but we should atleast be refunded something. The boat was a half hour late, and we were told we would still get the full 3 hours. We left the island 1 hour early because of the storm, and the boat ride to and from the island is 25 minutes both ways. So you do the math of how much island time we got (all in a storm mind you). All of the food restaurants were gone and we didn’t get to use any of our VIP perks which were almost double the cost everyone else paid. Not to mention they were letting everyone eat tons of snacks and use VIP floats. So, not worth the extra money. We loved the captains on our boat, but this day was not worth the $340 bucks we paid. At least give us the difference in VIP tickets and regular admission price. Seriously not professional at all to not respond.

The trip out to CI was great. The way back went a little sour. I heard B talking to someone saying everything was great other than someone brought banana on the boat- That someone was me... apparently that was a problem? My teenager heard him and looked at me with tears in her eyes because shes easily embarrassed and figured I broke a rule. I kept my mouth shut until we docked because at this point I was extremely uncomfortable. It was a very awkward ride back to shore inside my head debating whether I should say something or not. Before departing and my kids out of earshot I asked him what the problem was, I even offered to dig the peel out of the trash. I have to say he was very graceful and tried to save face and told me he was talking about someone from earlier in the day (we were the 10am, so there was no 'earlier in the day').
I still don't get the problem with eating a banana? I honestly feel like he targeted me for some unknown reason. He saw me eat the banana and I was next to him when he made the comment. It was extremely unprofessional and uncalled for.
I'd definitely recommend them if it wasn't for this. They'd have received a great tip and a five star review. Both crew members had amazing personalities, however we'll tour with someone else next time who doesn't feel the need to embarrass their guests and make me and my kid feel like crap for a BANANA.

I booked a trip for 14 people totalling $1400 and was supposed to go in May, but due to Covid we weren't able to travel. I had previously asked Michael (owner) in April if we couldn't travel if he would refund me, he said he would. I've emailed Michael 10 times asking/begging for a refund and he won't reply. I paid him via Cash app and they won't do anything either. I have also reported the business to Better Business Bureau. Be very, very cautious of doing business with Crab Island Water Taxi

We booked a VIP crab island tour and Capt B and Miss Kelly were awesome host! Very nice time! The only critical thing I would say is just book the standard trip and not the VIP for an extra 30 a person. You still can use a float dock they put up and if you really wanted a float you can purchase for 10. We had 1 bottle of water and 1 soda and 4 cheese it lil packs. Definitely wasn’t worth the extra 30 per person. Saying that you live and learn and I would highly recommend the tour, just book the standard tour!

They park their boats at the dock right at the entrance of the island (shore) when you approach the boats, you feel like you're lost but you're around the vicinity just coming in a backway. There will be a dock and other boats also

What is the actual location. Trip advisor page has a Destin address but website and the purchases say fort Walton at a location on maps that is vacant. Just curious from someone that’s been.

Someone please explain ... you take the taxi which leaves you in Crab Island all day and then pick you up or how does it work?
Michael J
Destin, FL
Not anymore. City, county, and national park services changed the ordinance this year in 2020. No company is allowed to do pick up and drop off any longer. What is allowed, and what the water taxi service provides are 3 hour tours to Crab Island. The boat, captain and crew stay out there with you for the tour time.
There are 2 packages to choose from:
Standard Ticket $49.99
which includes a round trip ride to crab island. The boat has a bathroom, seating, shade area, music and an open viewing deck. Customers are responsible to bring their own food and drinks, toys, and floats.
VIP Ticket $79.99
which includes all standard plus we provide you with all the toys, games, unlimited water, soda's, snacks, floating dance floor, phone chargers, and 10% off several partnering restaurants, waterpark, go carts, miniature golf and more.
