We took the sunset cruise on the Daniel Webster schooner, booking through the AJ's Water Adventures' phone number. We were in Florida for a week, and this cruise was the best thing we did. I've never been on a sailboat, and it was one of the most relaxing boat rides ever - and I'm terrified of deep water, but I felt safe. Why did I wait so long to do this? The Captain and crew were friendly, informative, and fun. They were great at pointing out the dolphins jumping in the water, and the Captain would point the schooner so that we were able to get beautiful sunset views and pictures. Very family friendly, price was worth it, and we tipped the Captain and crew. Don't forget to take a jacket - it's very windy, of course, and we underestimated the temperatures once the sun dropped, even though the temps were in the mid 70's that day. They provide two cups of wine, beer, or soda, and also water. You cannot bring drinks onboard. There is a restroom on board, but you have to go down a few stairs to reach it, so those who have trouble with stairs and balance need to be aware of this. It is a 2-hour cruise. We loved it.

This cruise was a great experience! I originally booked a swim and cruise on the Daniel Webster boat but with tropical storms coming in, AJ’s decided to cancel for safety, completely understandable and appreciated. They did, however, allow us to reschedule for the day before our original cruise, on the sunset cruise. I was skeptical at first, but as soon as the boat started moving I was deeply impressed. Both crew members were extremely friendly and fun. They went out of their way to make sure everyone had a good time. When it came to dolphins, we had a little trouble finding them at first but they did not stop searching until we did. They worked with other dolphin cruises to make sure all of us saw the dolphins. (I got some great photos and videos.) We did get a break in the clouds long enough to see the most beautiful sunset (picture attached) and they took the time to stop and allow everyone to get family/group pictures. The music was great and was family appropriate. The thing that impressed me the most is the prayer that the crew lead at the end of the cruise. It is so hard to find good companies that truly care about their customers’ experiences and this is definitely on of them. Thank you all so much! I just wish I would have brought more cash so I could have left you a bigger tip than I did!

The sailboat was amazing & very relaxing! Crew were friendly and interactive. Let the kids pull up the sails. Saw plenty of dolphins! Was not near as crowded as the other bigger boats which was nice. Only thing I would recommend would be to start around 4 pm and end at 5:30. Seemed like we were docking before the sunset.

We took the sunset Sailboat ride on the Daniel Webster Clements yesterday evening. The sailboat was totally awesome the crew were so welcoming and it had such a cool vibe the music was relaxing. It was a great evening filled with beautiful waters with nice cool breezes, nothing like I’ve ever experienced before the weather was perfect and so was the crew.
I would recommend this 💯times - it was a fun and wonderful experience. Thank y’all so much ♥️

We enjoyed the sunset and dolphin cruise with Nick (Captain) and Addison (First Mate). Although we didn't see that many dolphins and partly cloudy sunset, we all had a good time. Recommend seating in the back (so get in back of line) and bring crackers or bread to feed the pelicans and sea gulls. If you sit on the outside then you will get some spray from the boat.

We took an evening sunset sail on the Daniel Webster June 1, 2021. The boat was clean, crew was friendly and informative. We had a pleasant sailing experience. The boat was comfortable, we had 28 passengers and they limit to 37. Sitting on the cabin roofs was more comfortable than I thought it might be. We had 5 in our party aged 15-78, all were content.
We saw a few dolphins, but mostly just enjoyed the gentle rolling currents and different views as we left Destin Harbor under power then hoisted the sails for combination sail and power out past the jetty and into the Gulf (for only a few hundred yards). There were a lot of other types of boats meandering around at the gulf entrance jockeying for position, so it's not some peaceful sea faring adventure. The trip route changes depending on currents and in our case we were not able to sail along the coast but just meandered around and then back under the bridge to sail around near Crab Island for a slightly overcast sunset.
The crew, Taylor, Mitch, and Bailey were friendly, engaging and full of knowledge of the area. I even got to help Bailey hoist the sails (although I probably slowed her down). Beer was Budweiser, wine was Mondavi and they were generous and attentive with both. This crew works a hard schedule; 4 trips per day, 7 days a week, day in and day out, March through October. The only day off they get is when there is weather preventing them from going out.
The only reason I took one star away from my review is the music selection. They had an iPhone with 9,000 songs running a selected playlist of 1,200 songs. The list was quite eclectic with Michael Jackson, rock, Shania Twain and some avant garde selections. I have eclectic taste too, but for a sunset cruise I expect something to set the mood. I figured we were hearing party music to get us pumped up and they'd change the style up as we watched the sun go down. I even hinted and asked if they had any Jimmy Buffet or Bob Marley and was told "Yes, we do!", but the same random playlist played on. At one point, Christopher Cross' "Sailing" came on and I thought there was hope but then Tag Team came on and "Whoop, There It Is!"
It's a persnickety "complaint", I know, but it's an easy fix and would have made a difference to our whole trip...

The best cruise ever! The crew was very kind and hilarious! They played great, family friendly music that had the entire boat dancing. They made sure that each individual on the boat saw the dolphins and had a great experience. I was very appreciative of the prayer they said at the end of the tour! The scenery was exquisite and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset where the captains were sure to get pictures of each family for our own personal keeping. We are definitely booking with them again on our next trip! It was a blast :D

Cody and Nick made the sunset-dolphin tour extremely enjoyable. They made sure everyone had the best view for the dolphins, stopped and took sunset pictures of every group, and let the kids "drive the boat." Our family had an exceptional time.

Last night we took the Sunset dolphin cruise and boy was it fabulous! Not only did we see tons of dolphins, we received free drinks and the crew took pictures of each group when we set out and of course with the sunset behind us. The children on the boat also had a chance to drive the boat for a little bit. The music played appealed to all ages. The crew Nick and Cody were a joy! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. This was the highlight of our trip.

This is a great excursion that is a "no miss" experience for us every time we are in Destin. We always go and we always go with AJ's. The crew of the boat is a lot of fun and remember us from previous trips. They point out interesting things about Destin, always find dolphins, and always "go fast" for a period of time, which is exhilarating. We dance, the kids get to steer the boat and honk the horn, and everyone has a good time.

tengo una pregunta en este momento estoy rumbo a Destin y quisiera saber si este lugar es para nada con los delfines, sumergirme al agua y poder tocar a los delfines. Mis hijos están locos por nadar con estas criaturas hermosas.

Are the sunset dolphin trips in the bay or in the gulf? Seeking to understand if it might give certain people motion sickness. Many thanks!
Written June 13, 2021
Depending on tides they cruise in the bay a bit and can go out and cruise along the coast for a bit but on our trip we just went out past the bay entrance a few hundred yards and back in. The water was relatively calm with a few swells of 3-5 feet. Boat was stable and comfortable the whole time.

Do you recommend long sleeve tops for the sunset cruise?

Going to Destin mid August...looks like the only days they book is on Thursdays, which just so happens to be the day we are leaving! Really wanted to do the Webster, but neither shows availability for days other than Thursday (we will be arriving Sunday evening)..is this accurate?

How many people will the snorkeling boat seat?
Written July 27, 2018
Winds and tides pending, yes, it can be choppy. If it's really rough they won't go out. I think the boat is big enough to take some intermediate chop with no problem. The day we went out there was a medium chop and there was no problem. Coming into the harbor through the breakwater was tricky but the skipper handled it very well.
I'd recommend you go; it was a great time for my wife and I AND the whole passenger list.

Do you get to swim with dolphins? Want is the cost I have 4 adults, 2 children and 2 seniors
Written June 26, 2018
The voyage is well worth the money. Prices have already been listed so I won't repeat it. Your captain is a joker and fun to be with. We took the sunset cruise and it was outstanding. There were dolphins galore and it was fun watching them play in the wake of the boat. Worth the output!

I am having trouble deciding between the Sea Quest Speed boat or the Daniel Webster Sail boat. We will have my two year old with us and are wanting to do the sunset cruise. How do I decide which boat to take?
Written June 25, 2018
We struggled with the same choice and went with the sail boat and we were all very happy we did. It was a great experience!
