LOVE THIS PLACE
May 2015 • Couples
The first time we went to The Vintage Tap we FELL IN LOVE!!! Their is so much character to the place! The Customer service was on point! Nicole the bartender made us feel like we knew her for a hundred years and Ryan the Owner was so involved with the customers. I love when owners greet you, it makes you feel at home. We love live music and they have live music all the time. We will definitely be back to make more memories!

Vintage in Every Way!
Mar 2015 • Friends
This is a small, but unique establishment. There is a great selection of craft beers, full liquor bar, even outdoor bar and high quality entertainment. The decor is an eclectic blend of vintage artifacts such as Vargas sketches and memorabilia from everywhere. The weekend of my visit a California touring band called RED ELVIS provided for a memorable evening. The beers, entertainment and decor combine for a vintage experience. All of this is highly unusual for a small, local venue so don't miss it!

Plug into music @ Vintage Tap

Small bar with food available through a food van at least on the night we were there. Saw a band in a very intimate setting with limited seating. Perfect spot to see niche bands. Check their schedule to discover some interesting groups. There was a cover of $15 to see a great out of state band. I believe that the cover varies according to how established the band is or if anyone has actually heard of them. The size of the room greatly enhances the musical experience. Hate concert hall/arena shows where you watch the show on a jumbotron or need binoculars.

GROOVY JOINT
Sep 2014
If you enjoy eclectic, this joint is for you. Originally built in 1930's as a Prohibition era juke joint, it still has its bones. When you walk through the door, you know you are in a groovy joint. It reminds me of a beatnik coffee house of the 60's. The kind of joint Bob Dylan would have played. The bandstand is front and center with good stage lights and sound booth. All good. When the lights dim and music kicks, you will think you are in the Bronx. My hat is off to the owner, because he has a vision and is willing to share it. So grab a beer, pull up a stool, and enjoy some great music without fear of the Feds kicking in the door. Play it again, Sam.

Finally a Bar reminiscent of the Intimate Austin music venues

Wow, what a cool little Venue.. I have been here 3 times now and I must say Quality music, service and selection. Delray Beach tends to be a little stuffy sometimes with such a variety of highend eateries. Don't get me wrong Delray is a Foodies Paradise... but then I found this cool new spot. Unpretentious, edgy, and hip... The antiques are so cool and the room is intimate. I love seeing live music here. The Sunday Blues sessions are incredible, and this place gets packed on Friday and Saturdays. This is my new spot...

I must be getting too old because it was too loud

After reading all the hype and reviews on their Facebook page, I was a kinda disappointed. There's nothing that struck my as particularly vintage about the place. I don't know exactly what I expected, but basically to feel like I'd been transported back in time when I walked in the door. That didn't happen. It's just a big barren room with a small stage and a bar against the back wall. There's outdoor seating too, but I only spent about 5 minutes out there and that was well before the band started.

All that said, they do have a decent beer selection.and the prices are reasonable. The crowd vibe is good. It was very nice to not feel like a creepy old guy thrown in with a bunch of 20 somethings all looking to hook up.

We went to see Have Gun Will Travel. For my taste, the volume was too high to the point where the music became distorted and it was a little hard to hear the people around me. The place is super tiny, so I don't know if there's anything to be done about that. Maybe going acoustic? It would be perfect for, say, a jazz trio or some old school blues like Bessie Smith or a a lounge singer like James Darren. *Those* would be vintage.

The conch, rib, and crab shack right next door will deliver to the bar if you walk over and place an order. Can't speak to the seafood, but the ribs were incredible. I don't know how late they stay open.

Overall, I did have good time, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back unless I heard the music, or some aspect of the place, was going to actually be vintage.
