Great place to walk around for morning walk. There is municipal parking which is cost friendly so you will have no problem walking around for a couple of hours. The beach is pretty clean and there are life guards around. This was our place for the morning walk to get the day started. Beautiful sunrises on the Atlantic Ocean!

The municipal beach, which can get very crowded on weekends, is well-maintained and well-supervised. It's wide and kept clean. Chairs and umbrellas available for rent. One of the nicest things about Delray is you can walk on the beach quite far both north and south. Watch out for jellyfish!

It's a gem. Laid back compared to Boca Raton which I label Long Island, Florida. New Yorkers and Red Sox Nation will get it.

Wonderful food and beaches. But guess what, you can actually walk around because it's a real beach village.

Went to Delray municipal Beach today. Disappointed. There was a lot of seaweed and lots of trash. Water bottles and caps, coffee cups. The water was very warm and some what enjoyable because I'm from Boston.

You can ewalk to the beach from the Opal Grand, or if you are visiting by car you can park on the street for free, and walk to the beach access paths (there are plenty). Once on the beautiful beach you can't see cars, the road, or any high rises. Very peaceful and beautiful, and Atlantic Ave and its restaurants are a walk away.

The Delray Municipal Beach has public parking along the beach. You can park and then carry your items on the sand for a day at the beach.

Rarely crowded and completely open to Ocean Blvd where you can park and enter a path through the dunes every 25 yards or so. Activities are centered around the Atlantic Ave hub but you can pick a spot at the northern or southern ends and be alone with just the sound of the waves. At the hub you can take a short walk off the beach for a sandwich or a meal in your bathing suit. Plenty of sea toys to rent at the southern end
I retired here 13 years ago and I've never looked back. Living the dream.

This is a great beach any time of year! Even during December and January, the water temperature is warm enough to swim (high 70's). Although it is extremely crowded during holiday season, the crowds taper off after new years during the weekdays. There is parking at a number of public lots along A1A (ticket machines for parking at $1.50 /hour accept cash or credit card), in cluding Atlantic Dunes Park just north of Linton and Sandoway between Linton and Atlantic, both of which have bathrooms and showers. There is also metered parking all along the beach on A1A (at $1.50/hour cash only). Parking is extremely difficult during holidays and on weekends during high season, so just be patient and sit and wait for someone to leave; there's always people it seems coming and going. There are lifeguard stations all along the beach and signs will warn you on days there are strong currents or jelly fish. The beach is always clean and the ocean bottom sandy. Very popular with the tourists, this is usually an over - crowded beach. As a local, I have never cared for Delray Beach. I was there, just walking, just yesterday and saw nothing but a sea of blue cabanas and umbrellas in either direction --

It is a beach with a large area of sand, and it's well - kept, but right there by the more popular touristy Atlantic Avenue. Lots of vacation rental houses in the area, a tourist info center -- it's kind of in the downtown Delray hot spot, which I don't care for but if that's your thing? This is a good beach for you.

There is no parking lot as many public beaches have, but only sidewalk metered parking along the two - lane A1A. There is also a lot by the Sandoway House nature center, you can try your luck parking there (pay to park at a meter which dispenses a ticket to put on your dash board).

Rte. A1A in Palm Beach County is one of the most beautiful ocean drives on the East Coast, but it is frustratingly short on convenient public parking with access to the beach. That's why Delray's two town beaches are so precious. At the Municipal Beach there's no need for a resident parking sticker, no restrictions save for having to pay at a metered space. The rate is 25 cents for 10 minutes; only $1.50/hr. And since the parking spaces are immediately adjacent to the many paths and a short walk to the sand and surf, it is not that inconvenient to check back at the car from time to time to feed the meter.

Just one caveat: get there early in the morning. Even on a cool, overcast day the spaces fill up quickly as directly across the street are shops and restaurants, including the ever popular Boston's and the "downtown" district with its many eclectic shops and dozens and dozens of great eating and drinking establishments is also a short walk away.

Back on the beach, the sand is nearly as fine as sugar and as clean as any you will find in Florida. The surf almost always has a kick to it, is great for belly surfing, and is constantly washing up small, interesting pastel shells and broken pieces of coral. Finally, despite its proximity to the well traveled Rte. A1A, the long two mile beach is surprisingly quiet and tranquil and affords room for sun bathers to spread out and maintain their own space.
