The park is clean, easy access for handicapped persons or strollers and roller blades or skate board. The 2 mile loop is all paved and smooth. The forest is enchanting. Children will enjoy the play ground and the red and blue trails through the woods will offer a delightful stroll. As you get closer the lake be mindful that the paths through the woods could be muddy if it has been a recent rain. If so, just stay on the paved walkways.

It has two wooded trails with a 12+ foot wide paved trail. A 2-mile loop goes around a good sized parking area with restrooms and a kids playground. This breaks up the trail into a 1.4 and a .6 segment. The second trail is a 3.5 mile leg to Blue Springs followed by a 3-mile leg into DeBary. There is a pathway down to the lake a short distance from the parking area. I use this park everyday to walk my dogs (please pick-up after them) and to bike. Great place to see Gopher Tortoises, deer, hawks, eagles, and the occasional snake and black bear! People are friendly and the Park Staff is always busy keeping the park clean.

As part of the developing area Spring to Spring trail this park makes an excellent start point. This park has an excellent child play area and facilities as well as unpaved trails to views of Lake Beresford. What I like most about this park is the trail access. There is a small - less than two mile loop around the park of a paved trail then access to about a 7 mile segment of the Spring to Spring trail in western Volusia county. The trail is mostly tree covered and unlike most rails to trails it winds and has climbs and falls. This variation in terrain makes this a most enjoyable ride even in summer heat and humidity. I highly recommend the park and its trails and find myself using it several times each week.

Lake Beresford is not the easiest park to find, but well worth your effort to get here. Circling this park are 1.8 miles of paved multi-use trails. Folks can hike, bike, walk the dog, roller blade or jog. Nature lovers can also hike two short unpaved nature trails that are located within the park. There are modern restrooms and a water fountain near the parking area. Dog owners are provided with bags to pick up anything their dog may leave behind. There are numerous benches & trash cans along the paved trail. A playground is located just off the trail adjacent to the parking area. This park has always been peaceful, quiet and clean every time I have visited.

In addition, this is a trailhead for part of the unfinished Spring to Spring Trail that will eventually connect a number of parks/springs from Green Springs Park to Deleon Springs State Park…a total of over 26 miles. This completed paved segment of the trail connects Lake Beresford Park with Blue Springs State Park, 3 miles to the south. You will need a park pass or pay for entry if you intend to enter the state park.

In my opinion, this segment of the spring to spring trail is the best bike ride or walk in Volusia County. It is scenic and shaded over most of it's 3 mile length. The trail winds back and forth as well as having numerous elevation changes…not too steep, this IS Florida. The trail is sandwiched in-between a rail road to the east and state park lands to the west. Not having buildings or traffic next to the trail make it a quiet place where one can enjoy the natural beauty of Florida. You will hear plenty of birds and maybe get a chance to see wildlife if you are lucky. I have seen gopher tortoises, deer and even a black bear while on this trail.

Ok for a walk but many tree roots, etc. No wildlife to be seen. You can get to the lake but overall nothing special.

You start at Fatio Rd, either ride your bike or walk and travel all the way to Blue Springs Park. So much fun along the way and plenty of spots to stop and let the children play.

Beresford Park is convenient for walkers, joggers, cyclists and more. Well-maintained with a lot of parking. There is a 2 mile loop or a 6 mile roundtrip to Blue Springs.

I bike here every day now! It is great.

However, you have to watch out for children and dogs and adults who don't observe safety common sense rules (like being on one side of the path & their dog on the other with the leash stretched across the path!!!), especially on weekends, and black bears near the turn around in the new extension! We've seen him twice now in just a couple of weeks in the month of June.

Several months ago there was a panther there! So, beware the wildlife!

Oh, & the sharp turn at the end of the bridge...not a good design. Recipe for a crash, if you don't slow down for that one!

Not so amazing for tourists. It's a nice spot but not worth making a special trip. The walking loop is not on the lake and you can hear traffic off the main Rd when you're walking. The access to the lake is also average. I have found much nicer spots around.
