Airboat and Gator Charters offers Year-Round, Private Airboat Tours from Tedders Fish Camp in Deleon Springs, Florida. near Daytona Beach and Orlando. Tours take place on tributaries of the St. John's River that are connected to Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge and Deleon Springs State Park. Deleon Springs is conveniently located between Daytona Beach and Orlando. We are a short 10 minutes from Historic Downtown Deland and Stetson University. Captain Joshua and Brittany are lifetime Florida and Volusia County Residents. Captain Joshua has been guiding locally for 20 years and piloting airboat tours for nearly 16 years. Passengers should expect to see a vast array of Florida's wildlife, including alligators, manatees and bald eagles. All tours and charters are private and require a reservation. Also offering public and private water alligator hunts and bowfishing charters.

My family and I had the absolute best time on our fan boat tour! Our Captain Josh was more than we could hoped for as a tour guide; not only did he have extensive and impressive knowledge of the animals and the land, he was personable and made the tour much more enjoyable than our previous fan boat rides. He took amazing photos of our family and made sure he captured photos of all the wildlife that he shared with us after the tour. Can’t forget Brittney, who was easy to communicate and plan with, personable and was able to get us in for a tour the very next day. We highly recommend using Airboat and Gator Charters for your next tour through Florida’s wetlands!

You must do this with Capt Josh! We never met him before and just went by the web and the quick response we received when we asked questions through text. There were 5 of us, two in their 70's, two in their late 40's and one 10 yr old. Josh made the two hour trip (and please book the two hour as you see so much!) remarkable. He knows this country so well and is extremely knowledgeable about all the animals and birds in the area and we saw so many that we can't count all the different species.He knows their habits and where all (especially the gators) like to spend their time. If we asked a question, we received a thorough answer. Our 10 year old is a little "cautious" about many things and after the first 5 minutes he relaxed and was amazed. If you've ever thought that Florida is "boring" as we have heard it described, take this tour and you will be amazed by the glorious beauty found in the deep recesses of the area. At one point our 10 yr old said, "Mom, I never realized that swamps could be so beautiful!".
A HUGE added bonus, Capt Josh takes incredible photos and share them with you. At NO cost!! You can just enjoy and not worry about trying to take photos yourself.
You may wonder when you pull up to park, as to the decision you made as the dock etc looks "rough" but that is due to the damage from the hurricane. Don't worry about Capt Josh and his tour, it is a 6 star. We hope to get back someday, as we are sure the swamp changes daily. Enjoy!

Third time out with Capt. Josh was just as charming as ever! Although I frequent the area by kayak or canoe, I always see and learn something new with Josh. From the thrill of effortlessly skimming the waterways by airboat, to Josh's informatve and entertaining dialogue throughout the trip via individual headphones, Airboat and Gator Charters provides a perfect adventure highlighing the area's natural flora and fauna, and Josh's uncanny ability to locate and point out manatees, turtles, bald eagles, osprey, limpkins, herons and other water fowl, and, of course aligators, never disappoints! I'm already looking forward to trip #4!

We went with Josh for a spectacular airboat ride. Josh is knowledgeable, knows the area and was great at finding and pointing out a wide range of gators, birds and Florida’s natural beauty. Josh is a great guide, takes amazing pictures and is customer focused. We all had a great time and would do it again! Highly recommend.

It was an amazing tour for me and my family! Josh is an awesome captain and tour guide! He was friendly and a wealth of knowledge! He took amazing photos and made our trip an awesome tour of Florida's waters wild life and nature it self! We highly recommend his tour to everyone that is looking for a great experience of Florida and it's wildlife! Brittany is awesome as will with the reservations and letting you know everything you need to know about your trip so that you can really enjoy your time! Oh a big shout out to Josh for recommending a great fish sandwich and great place to eat! I must say the whole trip for us was amazing!

Family owned business. Both Brittany ( who kept in contact with us right up to the departure) and Josh ( our captain) made this bucket list dream a reality! Our 1 hour private tour was eveything we expected and more from sighting countless very large, medium, and small gators, to turtles, fish, and birds of all varieties, our trip was amazing! Josh even took pictures for us and air dropped them ( at no additional cost) to my wifes phone! Even though a little more expensive than other charters, you are not "crammed" into an oversized 20 person slow moving airboat that you dont see nearly the wildlife or back canals we did! I would definitely recommend this tour!

Capt. Joshua led us on an awesome sunset adventure through beautiful Florida waters. Stopping to make sure we saw lots of wildlife and stunning water views, he made our tour even more enjoyable. If you want a personal experience in an authentic Florida waterway, check out Airboat and Gator Charters. We were very glad we chose them for our first airboat adventure!

Captain Josh was amazing and his wife, Brittany was so helpful in sharing information and making sure we were clear on directions, etc! He took us all over the place pointing out so much wildlife and beautiful scenery! He also took pictures of everything we saw and shared interesting information about the spring and surrounding area. We highly recommend Gator and Airboat Charters, you will not be disappointed!

We had a great time with Josh.
He was very knowledgeable and knew all the best places to stop.
We saw big and small gators, bald eagles jumping fish turtles kingfishers ospreys and so much more.
This was a fantastic experience we had family over from the Uk and they loved it.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a great time discovering nature!

This tour was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, Captain Josh made sure we had the best experience possible. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and its wildlife, sharing interesting facts along the way, and he was also just a really nice guy who made the whole trip fun and enjoyable.
We saw so much wildlife - tons of manatees, a variety of birds, and so many alligators, (even tiny baby gators!!) which was so cool to see. Captain Josh made sure to point out everything to us to make sure we got the full experience of seeing everything. The area itself was stunning, and gliding through the water on the airboat was such a unique and exciting way to explore.
One of our favorite parts was that Captain Josh took amazing professional quality photos of the wildlife with his camera and airdropped them to us after the tour. He even took great group photos for us, which was such a thoughtful extra touch. It made the whole experience even more special.
Highly recommend this unforgettable and wonderful experience. Thank you for a great time!!

Thank You for writing. It will just depend on the weather. Currently it’s callong for a high of 76 degrees which is way cooler than what we have been experiencing. Usually with temps like this we lean towards begining around mid morning but can continue with good chances of success on wildlife viewing all day. However, weathermen have a habit of getting it wrong.

Our tours are mobile and the locations may change as wildlife movement can be seasonal. We’re Most likely to launch from Deleon Springs, which is about 45min West of Daytona.

Good question! I’ve been doing 60min tours for about 5yrs now. They give a fair price point for groups on a budget. They also generally provide a great experience. A lot of it just depends on the time of year, weather and how much you like to interact on the tour. I enjoy the 90min because it allows us some wiggle room. I don’t think you would be disappointed in a 60min tour but the consensus is that regardless the time passes quickly. There are times when a 90min tour is overkill but I would let you know.
