Every November, we go to the Saint Demetrios Greek Festival. They provide excellent Greek food with an array of dishes to choose from. Greek alcohols and wine are served along with sodas and water for non-drinkers. At the entry is a Gyro station when you can get fresh carved Gyros. Inside they offer about 5 different entrees that are so full of food, 2 can dine off of one order. There is also a dessert station where you can get sweets to eat there or take home. Outside near the river they offer Calamari and several other fried options for a lighter fare. When the dancers come out they are dressed in true Greek outfits and the crowd gets going by clapping along with the music. The mandolin player is the biggest hit of the night!

We went to the Greek festival at St. Demetrios in Daytona. Wonderful location, right on the Halifax River, with a riverwalk and pier out over the water. The sanctuary is beautiful and serene, and we immediately sensed that all were welcome to come in and pray or meditate. We did! The festival itself was fun, with lots of food, live music, Greek dancers, vendors with everything from goat's milk soap and sponges to Greek coffee, sponges, etc. Lots and lots of food! Full Greek meals, pastries, calamari, and of course gyros! Fun afternoon at this annual November festival!

If you like Greek food, then definitely go to their annual November festival. The choices of food are so good, I have had their Gyros, Spanikopita, Dolmathes, and all types of desserts! Lots of dancing too!
