Nice walk along the boardwalk to the end of the pier. Once, the fishermen were catching several fish all at once. Fun place, except keep an eye on homeless.

What happened to Daytona Beach? The beach itself is beautiful as always but the area around the boardwalk and pier and just nasty. Nothing but homeless beggars, runaways and drug addicts. Frankly, it just feels unsafe not just at the boardwalk and pier area, but the whole of the downtown area. Head a few miles north or south for a much better experience.

The band shell and clocktower are very old and made of coquina shell rock. It's so beautiful. And to think it almost went away until a group raised money to save it and restore it. Thank Goodness! The boardwalk has seen better day IMO and there isn't much left to it. It had it's heyday once long ago.

From what I heard from other people it used to be much better than it is now. There just really isn't much to do here.

The place has potencial but was dirty, with homeless walking and sleeping around. It's very dirty. This place needs TLC.
