About Whiskey Creek Hideout
Whiskey Creek Hideout is the official concession operator for Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, one of Florida's easiest and most interesting shore dives. We offer rentals for all kinds of water sports including paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes. The mangrove-lined waterway is a scenic place to ride bike trails, observe wildlife, and enjoy guided tours (Full Moon Tour, Sunset Tour, and Eco Tours). The park also has two boat ramps with access to the ocean through the Port Everglades Inlet, perfect for those who prefer to fish in open water. After a day of adventure, grab a bite to eat at the oceanfront restaurant, Whiskey Creek Hideout. We offer event planning and private beach locations for weddings, corporate events, and more.

We booked the Sunset Kayak Tour for four. We paid for an uber and got there, but couldn't go any further since the parked was closed. I couldn't call them due to the fact that they close at 5 even though our tour was at 6:30. Finally got in contact with them through email, and they informed us that they canceled our tour due to weather. They said they called everyone to tell them it was canceled, I never received a call. It started pouring so we got caught in the rain and had to Uber back to our Airbnb. That's 2 Ubers wasted plus the money we spend on the Kayak Tour. Thankfully I am getting a refund, but on the email it says it could take up to 30 days to go back in my account. They have terrible communication and truly wasted our time and money!

On a quiet Wednesday morning, my wife and I went to the Whiskey Creek Hideout to do some kayaking. We have one kayak and needed to rent a second frothier fleet of rental equipment. We entered the pavilion that WCH operates out of and found the place empty of any other patrons and no staff in sight. So we're now in the main area and proceed right out the back down the stairs to the launch beach and storage rack where the rental equipment is stored, still no staff to greet us or offer to assist, "hey folks, how can I help you" NOTHING... so we walk around the front of the building and again enter from the front. This time I see four staff members all sitting down low behind the counter, no acknowledgement of my wife nor myself from any staff member. So I say to them all, not one in particular, we need to rent a kayak, and they move like we interrupted them. I asked them "didn't you just see us walk through here the first time like a minute ago"... no reply. So we surrender the driver license and credit card required for a rental. They guy points us in the direction of the rentals, doesn't walk down there with us, there was one kayak beached and we're not sure if that is ours to use or belongs to someone else. There was a life vest sitting there on the kayak, again we have no idea if that is our kayak or what. So my wife walks back up the stairs and asks the guy is that for us. Yeah take what ever is out there. So the kayaking itself was cool, had a great time. But due to the poor customer service, we won't be coming back here again. However, there is better facility to rent kayaks or bring your own, not but a few miles away on Sheridan street. the Ann Kolb Nature Center and The West Lake Park. Great Mangrove waterways and canals and better laid out than WCH..

If you have your own Kayak or Paddleboard this is the best place to be. You can veer off to a sand bar and sun bathe or even walk over to the beach. They have good snacks (no wine) but good beer (im told). Dont order anything or engage the staff without a Mask. Really want to do the moonlight kayaking. Rangers visible (and invisible). Safe, clean, fun!

A sanctuary in the middle of city life. Hosts were friendly, attentive and informative as we kayaked in the moon light. The campfire and some mores topped the evening off. I've booked another tour.
