Second time my bf and I have went with this tour company to swim near manatees. First time was my very first experience and it was an exhilarating experience, especially seeing how large and docile yet curious they are! Even if you’re not a manatee lover, it’s a great swimming experience and a way to see other wildlife. It was very helpful since all the staff are knowledgeable and perceptive of the ecosystem. This time our tour guide was Gabby ,knowledgeable about manatees and the ecosystem; she informed our group she attended a university and studied an aquatics science. Our captain was Garret, friendly and knowledgeable like Gabby as he’s a local so he has great recommendations for places to visit during and after the tour (food/shop/conservation and learning purposes). Both were positive and attentive to answer any questions we had and provide us we lots of history, marine, conservatory, and seasonal occasions in the river/bay that we could attend throughout the year. Both invested wisely in equipment to promote quicker and better time used during our scheduled tour so we had more time to be in the water with the manatees. Garret had an amazing drone- it launched too quickly that I didn’t get the chance to record it. He went over the specs and explained how it worked. I never thought drones were useful and so powerful for observation and tracking purposes that he was able to quickly find manatees while gabby and us in the group looked for signs of manatees. Not even 10 minutes of in the boat and we found a good amount of manatees despite it being September where there are like less than 40 since it isn’t cold enough in the harbor for them to migrate. The camera Gabby had made me like, “whoa I never thought I’d drop $ on a camera when I could just use my phone”. Photos of the tour were great! Gabby really has an eye for wildlife photography! She got excellent shots of the manatees, knowledgeable by getting the bodies to identify and track the manatees in the bay and cute ones too on the manatees gracefully and derpy in the clear water even ones of them munching on sea grass! Great way to document the trip. Don’t worry about being cold when you get back on the boat they have hot tea or hot chocolate to warm y’all up! Seriously, y’all wanna have a good time especially do something cute and adventurous, check out manatees swim tours and pick this tour business! I legit got on this dang site that I don’t even use just to boast about how awesome my experience was and how they’re doing their part to teach about conservation of manatees and the ecosystem and our opportunities to protect them so they thrive. Also ong cutest gift shop, this time I got a huge manatee plushie to use instead of a body pillow!
