Crystal River Preserve has lots of trails every thing is pristine and taken good care by the staff. With ponds and wetlands you have fish and fisherman, water birds, eagles, many birds, snakes, insects, reptiles, turtles, rabbits, raccoons and hogs.

Awesome park with lots of trails. FREE of charge! Several trailheads to start at. Tons of wildlife and beautiful, natural Florida landscape. Eco boat tours during the week are spectacular! Also LOVE the archeological park. Highly recommend visiting this area. Don't forget your camera and insect repellent.. Ha!

this park is pristine in the woods. miles of nothing but nature and trails and wild animals. Hogs, birds, turtles, etc. has hiking trails, and goes back to the water, crystal river I believe. great for boaters too.

Nice ponds and views of the wetlands. Folks were fishing in the area but didn't seem to be catching much. We went in early May and the weather was quite beautiful.

Buffy did an outstanding job describing the nature, history, and wilflife during our cruise out to the Gulf for sunset. The Captain did a wonderful job navigating and pointing out a bald eagle and other birds. It was a very enjoyable ride. The sunset was gorgeous as we sat and watched the sun meet the ocean. The state park has... More

This little park has a visitor center, native plant garden, an area to launch your kayak and eco boat tours.

One of our top destinations because of the boat tour! But, arrive early, 30-60 minutes to buy a ticket in the winter. The small museum inside and video help the wait time. The 1 1/2 cruise on the Crystal River is so beautiful, educational, and relaxing. The guides are always knowledgeable providing a short history beginning with the first Indians... More

The State Preserve is only good to visit if you take the boat tour or go hiking. The visitor center is just a kick off point for boats and to get information. Nothing else to see there. I took the boat tour at 10:30 AM on Wednesday. I got there an hour and half early because of reviews that indicated... More

Some reviews have this confused with Homosassa in Crystal River, not the same park. Driving into this one it does not look all that spectacular but get on the tour boat. It's an almost two hour tour into the gulf estuaries with scenery just breathtaking. And binoculars are even on the seats for patrons to use. We saw lots of... More

We visited on Veterans Day when unfortunately the park was closed, but we were able to walk along the banks of the river to admire the lovely views. We had a nice walk but didn't see much wildlife; perhaps there is more to see if you take a boat trip.
