A friend and I drove here to check out the beach since other beaches are a 2-hour drive for us (this took us 45 min). I suggest you get here early during the summer. It fills up quickly with families & children. I found the water to be kind of murky and very warm. On the plus side, there is... More

We had never encountered such a compromising situation. We got out of the water and sat around the picnic area to enjoy our luncheon. We have a kept a very close eye on our skin etc. for any kind of nasty looking things on our legs etc. other than the scare, the water was decent and extremely warm. (And, very... More

I know it's a man made beach, but it is very small. The water was really clear and the beach was clean. The rest rooms on the other hand were bot and smelled really bad. Make sure u are already changed to swim b4 u get there. I learned the hard way.

Like all of the coastline in Hernando and Citrus Counties, there is no beach to speak of. Take the road through saltwater marsh land to the very end. There is a boat ramp and small beach with bathroom building. Not much parking but quite a few vendor spot s. When we were there one vendors was selling beach stuff. Do... More

We recently visited this beach with visiting family. We were in the water even though it was raining hard. Dark clouds all around, then thunder and even far off lightning. At the first bolt of lightning a siren went off to alert swimmers to get out of the water. Wow I was impressed by the speediness of the warning and... More

We love this beach and it's our favorite place on the gulf. We watched the sunrise at Jax Beach and drove over to Crystal River same day to watch it set. It was beautiful.

Small public beach. The beach is usually well maintained. There is a pier close by, as well as a boat ramp. Perfect beach for families with small children. The bathrooms are usually in horrible shape! During the peak summer times there is usually a food truck that has snacks and drinks. Beautiful spot to watch the sunset!

We went to the beach to relax and get a change of scenery. They had pretty clean bathrooms for being on a beach. Then down the down they had a pier you can fish off of if you want to.

Went here after Fort Trail Park down road to catch sunset. Didn't walk out to pier just photo'd sunset with pier. VERY small beach. Bathroom (however someone said no lights in there), outside showers. Lots of crabs. At the end of the road...... AND opposite direction of sunset is a nuclear power plant..

We went to this beach for an evening walk with the kids. I liked that it was free parking, however the water was very still and dark looking due to the large amount of seaweed. The water is actually quite clear, just a lot of seaweed. I had brought the kids' swimsuits, but decided not to let them swim after... More
