Most folks just zoom by this boater friendly county run park. But if you're in the area and would like to go on a nice little fishing pier in one of the more fishing friendly from shore experiences, this is the place to visit. Located half way down Ft. Island Trail (which dead ends at another County park with a beach, restrooms and fishing/boating facilities with almost the same name) this little gem might just land you a trout, redfish or sheepshead during the winter months. Bathrooms are clean, parking is adequate and experience is worthwhile for the adventure traveler.

For just 14 acres this park has alot to offer! 2 Boat ramps, fishing pier, picnic areas, nice places to just sit and watch the boats go by and to enjoy the beautiful views of the scenic area on the river. It's a popular spot for boaters, so it can get crowded on the weekends and parking gets limited. But, usually you can find a spot to park up by the picnic area and fishing pier. There is some shaded pathways to take a short walk along the river areas, too.

Best boat ramp ever, great access and parking, quality ramps, docks, restrooms. Easy to find and right on the Crystal River within a short boat ride to the Gulf.

My sole purpose was fishing....It was close to where I needed to be.....there were sufficient bathrooms....launch and dock were in decent shape. Im not the kind of guy to go there for a picnic....just launching a boat to go fishing so, yea, the place served its purpose...

Just a quick jaunt around town before turning in to our hotel. Stopped here to walk a little after driving all day. Enjoyed the pier at sunset, photographed some birds, saw a gator. Basically had the place to ourselves, local told us to go 4 miles up the street to beach for more great sunset.

So it's the only beach in the county, so I have to love it a little. There is sand and water. Try not to look at the nuclear power plant on the horizon. Someone is probably playing Sweet Home Alabama from their truck and it's frozen in time to 1978.

A great place for a picnic, boat watching (or launching if you're lucky enough to own a boat), clean restrooms and a newly refurbished fishing dock. Fishing and crabbing is fun for old and young, but "catching" is sometimes difficult - it depends what fish happen by. Oh, want to see a manatee? Visit in the colder months - they're back and forth all the time.

On our brief visit to this park we saw a surprisingly high number of animals, including a bottlenose dolphin, manatees, white ibis, and cormorants. One much less welcome species making an appearance was the legendary Florida "no-see-um". These are swarming, biting flies the size of a pinhead, whose main goal in life seems to be to inflict a moderately painful bite that transforms into a majorly infuriating itch for days afterwards. They weren't fazed by the 30% DEET insect repellent we were using, even landing on skin still wet with the stuff. I advise wearing long sleeves and trousers.

This little park has a great boat launch. Convenient on the Crystal River. Also nice bike lanes to ride your bike.

Lots of parking and an easy to use boat launch puts you on the river that access the Gulf. Picnic on the grounds and enjoy the scenery. Unfortunately, being on the river with lots of vegetation nearby and very little wind, the bugs can be wicked if they love you! Take the bug spray.
