Kayak Jacks Paddlesports is one of 3 companies that provide paddleboard and kayak service to areas of Anna Maria Island. Kayak Jacks seemed to have the best price and since the COVID craziness only the Robinson Preserve was open.
Just off the beaten path is an area filled with fish, birds, and other wildlife. We chose the 4 hour self tour which was plenty of time to explore. Bring a lunch and something to drink because paddle boarding isn’t a spectator sport. If you head out to the bay, head to the left and follow the shoreline for a great view of AMI and take it slow in the shallows to see Skates, Fish and occasionally a Horseshoe Crab.
As with anything there are pros and cons. The equipment was in good order and Cody was very helpful getting us underway. Keep in mind the Observation Tower is closed and the two constructions guys were more than happy to let us know that even the six foot sandy launch area was closed as well.
The worst part of our day was the boat fisherman. I understand we all have to share the water but up along the shoreline human powered vessels have the right away so don’t be surprised when you crossover “their fishing” spot that they aren’t very pleasent to you. Tight Lines Fellas.
So if you are looking for some good clean exercise with a fantastic view this is it.

We rented two tandem kayaks to go kayaking in Robinson preserve. Their rental price is very reasonable--$107 for two tandem kayaks for 4 hours. Our rental time was noon, but when w got there at 11 am Kayak Jack was already there and let us go out early. He was also right there when we got back an hour early. High recommend!

We called last minute and Kayak Jacks were able to rent us 2 kayaks for a beautiful day at the Robinson Preserve. They delivered the kayaks early and were there waiting for us when we were finished. Very helpful and prompt rental company.

We called to reserve kayaks at 8:24 am and canceled same day, 30 minutes later at 8:54am. He’s local, down the street, so we always walk over to rent. Never been on his website, we always called him directly. After his very rude response to me, he sends me his website which clearly states no refunds, but I never have gone on his website? I always did business with him directly. My question is, then why not stress to your callers that there is absolutely no refund or credit? You just take there money? Like playing poker I guess 😂 Anyway BEWARE. Shady business practices.

We're sorry your experience wasn't what you were expecting. Due to the number of cancellations that can occur after the equipment is loaded onto a truck and delivered to a location, our guidelines state there will be no refunds as we need to compensate our employees that have already finished part of the work by setting up the kayaks or paddleboards for use. We will definitely take your suggestion into consideration for the future.

Wanted to rent kayaks and join an archeo paddle at Robinson Preserve. Jack and Cody couldn’t have been better to work with.
They were at the site early and helped us with everything. Really appreciate Jack’s help understanding where we would launch to catch the tour.
Will definitely use them again!

Cody at Kayak Jack's met us at Robinson Preserve on time. He is very friendly, and gave us excellent advice about where to kayak. His advice about where to go, how long it would take, and how to deal with the windy conditions was spot on. Kayaks were in very good shape, he gave us maps to use, and was very kind, helping us in and out of the kayaks. I highly recommend them.

I rented a kayak for the Robinson Preserve and was blown away by the owners' attention to every detail of rental. The kayaks were there "in the ready" and in great condition. They are knowledgeable regarding great kayaking places around Anna Maria Island. Absolutely, if you want an easy, wonderful rental experience, I highly recommend Kayak Jacks!!

Everything worked out well. And the area for kayaking couldn't be more serene, safe and comfortable. Jack was there at the appointed hour, nice kayaks at the ready, a bag for your valuables, life jackets and helped you get started. He gave us a map and we were on our way for almost 4 glorious hours. My husband and I are not seasoned kayakers so we were thankful that shore was always in sight. Ibis, osprey and various waterfowl were plentiful. A perfect day.

Our group of 3 ladies wanted to go kayaking. 2 had no previous experience. Jill was awesome about setting up our trip and answering all our questions. Jack helped us with the kayaks and explained the trail and area. Wonderful paddle...highly recommend this company.

Is it appropriate for first time kayakers. Is it on a river
Written April 4, 2017
Go to the kayaking at Robinson is done on inlets that are fairly shallow very little current. The tide and winds offer some minor challenges but nothing to be concerned about.
We have taken several friends who were first timers and they had a good time.

Is it on a river Are there any alligators? Is it appropriate for beginner kayakers? Can I have your phone number please.
Written April 4, 2017
Very calm waters when we were there. It was not very windy that day. They told us there are no alligators there. Very helpful and a beginner should have no problems.
