A local resident told me he played the Biltmore for about $30 off-season. I'd say that's what it is worth in any season. I would compare it to a decent public course. Nothing remotely worth the $200+ we paid. The layout was OK but not very imaginative. The condition was lousy. Kind of like an over-played public course. The greens were wildly inconsistent. Again, if it were ~$30, I would have thought, "yeah, that wasn't bad". But the price was just WAY out of whack with what you got. Skip it until you start reading better reviews. Or better yet, wait until the off season and get your destination fix in.

I had the worst and most humiliating experience at what was supposed to be a 5-star place! I came here with my wife, who is not a golfer, paid the out-of-state ridiculous rate for a mediocre course and when I asked to have my wife ride with me, they said the head pro Ken does not allow wife-rider, I told them I will pay full green fee for her, they said Ken will not allow it! I do not know where that Ken worked before, but when someone on honeymoon pays a full rate for a round on a second-tier course with sanded fairways and greens, and he wanted to pay the same for his non-golfer wife to ride the cart was refused! this so-called head pro should find a different job in none customer-oriented field! To add insult to injury; we had late lunch there and the food was DISGUSTING!

There is currently some construction work taking place on the golf course. Unfortunately, the signs from the parking lot to the golf shop were also covered by barriers. After I had paid for my green fee and my balls for the range, when I arrived at the range I was informed that it was closed. But then I still got balls. The range and mats were in very poor condition. I actually wanted to have breakfast in the clubhouse, but it was closed due to renovations. I was then called to the dining car by telephone. I had given my car number. After 3 hours it finally came. The game was very slow and there was no marshal on the pitch. The greens were good, the rest of the course had many areas that were not well maintained. The layout is boring. Overall, the price of $262 is not justified. disappointing!

Aside from the mediocre driving range, this public course is a great spot. We played 9 holes on a Wednesday afternoon, and the course was in great shape, the afternoon round was slow but open, and the rental clubs were good quality. It's a tad pricey ($102 for two non-resident visitors not staying at the hotel) but if we had booked ahead of time online we could have gotten 50% off for select few times.
Other perks:
- drink cart was well stocked with beer and liquor and the driver's service was top notch
- iguanas on the greens made for extra fun
- GPS in the carts worked well.

The Biltmore has been a Coral Gables landmark for decades. The Hotel had been abandoned back in the 1970s, but since has been restored to it's original grand state.
The golf course has never been better. The course is wide and forgiving. Fun for the average golfer, without getting too frustrated. There is enough water on the course to keep you on your game though.

The only way to play this course is to get a deal on line. Other than that it is NOT worth the money. Â Starter was rude, I called ahead to let them know that I was running late because of traffic and showed up 5 mins before tee time. I was ready to go, only to find out that he sent the group out 15 mins early and told me to play by myself until I could catch up with them. What a JOKE and rude about it.Â
The grounds where not in the best of shape. The layout of the course was a bit confusing at times and the signs where missing to the next hole...ie the 10th hole starts all the way over on the other side and no direction. Hard for a first timer to get around. Driving range was not in the best of shape. Bathroom at the snack bar was a mess and smelled.
The only saving grace was the people I was playing with and the outside patio after golf for drinks and some food. Our Waiter who I can not remember his name but Lived in Pa at onetime, was GREAT. When I asked for 2 ice tea and 2 lemonades for just me he knew to bring over the pitchers and leave them with us. That is why he got the big tip.Â

What a shame what they did to this magnificent golf course. The fairways are in really bad condition, there is no grass around the greens. Bunkers not raked. The only good think about the golf course is great people who work there. They are super nice and helpful.

After 6 months closed the Biltmore Hotel reopen a Donal Ross gem. With and improved layout that includes more than 80 new bunkers.
The golf course need another 6 months to be in perfect conditions but what we saw and played was a very challenging golf course.
The staff at the golf course is incredible. The best in south Florida.
The services of the cart girls and the 19th hole restaurant was great.

I was staying at the Biltmore resort for the Univision sports awards show and had the opportunity to play this great course during my visit.
This course, designed by the legendary Donald Ross, lived up to the hype and expectations. It was both challenging, yet very forgiving. Definitely a course players boasting low or high handicaps can thoroughly enjoy. Beautiful scenery, wildlife everywhere, perfect greens and well-manicured fairways.
Just brilliant and can't wait to play it again at next year's event.

This is an expensive course to play ... residents get a break of around $100 but visitors and hotel guests are getting docked at least $200 to play, including cart but not including range balls. Right there, that says a lot. You charge $232 during prime time but you can't spring the $10 to include range balls. .... But I digress. The key point is that a premium price deserves a premium course and the course conditions has fallen way below that standard. Someone needs to get a new greens keeper, reduce play and/or up their budget. (OK, not Doral prices, but still on the high end).
Understand, el Nino has wrecked havoc on south Florida this year, freaky temperatures and tons of rain. Clearly they lost their greens and are trying to recover. But I have played other courses in the area that are at least playable. These greens were hairy, lumpy, inconsistent, and muni-speed slow. Let's not mince words here: the greens were , the tee boxes were meh, the fairways required playing the ball up. I have played this course in years past and truth be told, the course conditions were never great, but the course lay out and the staff more than made up for these shortcomings. But enough is enough. My recommendation take some drastic measures like cutting your prices for a while, play some temp greens until the greens recover, and keep carts off of the fairways to give them break.
**Restore the luster to this once great course! **
About the course:
The course is an original Donald Ross design redone a number of years back by Silva. The layout is fair, not overly long (6300 members tees, 6700 tips), with some carries over water, some bunkering, and reasonable typical Florida rough. It is not the same-old same-old Florida design. If the greens ran faster, the course would be a bear, that is for sure, but as it is, the slope of the course is around 120 something. Typical to a Ross course, it is all about position ... come from the wrong angle, miss the pin on the wrong side, and kiss your par good bye.
The hotel is in a wonderful section of Coral Gables, surrounded by unique and wealthy homes. The parking lot on the right side of the hotel is free, just don't park near the fence along the course as some balls do fly over from the first hole The staff are friendly if somewhat overworked and the course itself is almost always full. I've seen some local athletes play there like Alonzo Mourning (twice). Home to the U. Miami ladies team.
