Good park for boaters

This is mostly a miring park with a small swimming lagoon suitable for small children. There is a nice restaurant with a limited menu at night

Great for swimming in a secure area for children. Beautiful scenery for photos, often I have seen professional photographers snapping away. Very safe place. You have to pay an entrance fee which is nominal but it keeps out the riff-raff so I have no problem paying. Great for picnics and romantic strolls under massive oak trees. Cons: During summer months... More

While visiting the area and the only public beach we could find we decided to head to Matheson Hammock Park. Beautiful location and if a natural pool, a great beach option for families with young kids or those uneasy about swimming directly in the ocean. However on arriving. The 'pool' was closed. There were about 4 lifeguard stations around this... More

As an amiture photographer I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get some rest shots of the Miami city skyline, even with an admittance fee of $5.00. We also saw some smaller birds and got some great water meets land shots. There are some nice beaches for families but the area where sea meets land is full of debris. I... More

Probably the best spot to bath, swim and rest with an amazing view on Miami. Great facility even for families.

This is a small water area where we went to enjoy the sunny, warm Coral Gables afternoon. Plenty of beach area for our blankets, Nice area for a picnic or family day out.

Even if it's a beautiful place, we have been stolen. The thiefs broke the handle of our locked car and took all our luggages. We just stopped 5 minutes to take some pictures, there is a guard at the entrance (the park cost 5$) and the marine police is just beside. At a point, we were without any one penny,... More

I have been comign to Matheson Hammock since the 1960's and it remains one of my favorite places in South Florida. It is a small man-made beach on Biscayne Bay with the most unique and spectacular views of the Miami skyline. It also has a marina and a restaurant. It is a ncie place to go see wind kite surfer...
