Maybe the best urban park in Florida
Jul 2021
Such a unique park that you generally don't find in urban areas. Lots of contrast covering what South Florida looked like before human development. I actually compare this part to Rock Creek in DC. Not quite at that level but for South Florida which has such limited preserved natural areas in the urban core areas, this is a one-of-a-kind place.

Solo date

I went here alone to reconnect on Valentine’s Day. It was very beautiful and not too crowded. There were not many animals, but I would want to see it in different seasons. I tried to go on the Maple Walk trail, but it was way too muddy. I almost lost a shoe and turned back. I will be coming back to try it out though.

Beautiful and well kept park

We parked here in order to take the Cypress Creek bike trail. Decided to explore the park after our ride. Park is beautiful and well taken care of. We stayed on the boardwalk to explore and had lunch on one of the picnic benches. Super relaxing and shady park. Definitely will return.

Peaceful walk along clean boardwalk and trails
Dec 2020 • Solo
Smallish park with a few short trails highlighting local vegetation - ferns, maples, cypress etc. and some wildlife. Trails are short and easy, both trails and boardwalks are well maintained. The maple trail is the only muddy trail and a warning is posted about the muddy nature. I believe a boardwalk here would improve the experience a lot.

Got to 💖 FL Nature

This is a one of a kind park. Most nature parks are actually preserves. This county park has a natural area within it. If you want to hike through a Florida swamp with a low risk of an encounter with a wild animal then go to Fern Forest Nature Center in Coconut Creek, FL. #BrowardParks

Nice tranquility
Dec 2019 • Family
Peaceful boardwalk leads to the main walking trail. Beautifully green! Lots of plant diversity. Haven't seen many live animals in my visits. But every leaf shape is represented so it's a cool compliment to botany lessons for teachers. Actually took my first grade class there for a field trip and it was very enjoyable. Small, quaint, nice nature place!

This was South Florida with its natural flora and fona. I have been to my friend Michael Shawhan's step daughter's wedding here, I have been to at lest three plant sales, a band at the pavilion. The half mile trail winds through a tropical hardwood hammock and a lush cypress swamp. It's free.

Great experience!

I have never had the chance to ride in one of these boats and it was awesome! Dalton was our driver/guide, he was such a great person overall with his personality and knowledge of the Florida agriculture. Dalton explained so many different things around the life of alligators that I was not aware of. He explained the information with such a relaxed demeanor to give us a better understanding of their lives. Thank you for such a great experience
