The views alone are worth the stay at this beautiful Central Florida State Park. Numerous hiking trails, incredible wildlife sightings, and quiet, well spaced out campsites. I highly recommend kayaking or canoeing on the Lake, as well as leisure bike rides between the campgrounds and the shore of Lake Louisa. Restroom and showers in the campground were clean and well maintained. My family and I will definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing first time at Lake Louisa State Park. Our cabin (#4) was clean, and stocked with everything we needed. We brought our own towels, sheets, pillows and blankets just as a safety precaution, however, that was unnecessary, as everything was extremely crisp and clean, and smelled like bleach. Sheets for all beds (including fitted sheets) are in the master bedroom dresser. All towels are in the “kids” bathroom. The best part for me was the screened in porch overlooking the lake. The view is amazing. From watching the kids make s’mores by the fire pit, to a gorgeous sunset, to a hot air balloon floating around in the distance the morning of our departure. We enjoyed fishing, swimming, exploring and just relaxing, away from the hustle and bustle of every day life especially during these hard times for our country. We already booked our next vacation (2 cabins together) because we’re introducing another family to this “hidden” gem. Now that we got our feet wet, we’re definitely not bringing half the stuff we brought this trip, and will definitely do some kayaking and horseback riding. I can’t wait to go back!

Nice way to socially distance! After cancelling our out of state vacation we settled on Lake Louisa State Park. We rented a glamping tent plus a traditional tent for the kids (family of 5). The glamping tent was great, spacious and very comfortable. Love the AC! The staff was very helpful and resolved an issue we had with the traditional tent very quickly. We went kayaking/canoeing twice which is ok, but not much to see and on a smaller lake. My older two daughters and wife went on a 1 hour trail ride and enjoyed it. The kids also enjoyed the swimming beach.

I purchased the luxury glamping experience and that is not what we had. When we arrived the zippers to our tent was broken and unable to close. The canteen employee was very sweet and did all she could to accommodate us. She went and got clips to clamp it shut so the bugs wouldn't get in. Then there was holes everywhere in the tent and when it rained everything got soaked. The a/c unit took forever to start cooling and never really cooled until the evening time. There was nothing to see while kayaking. We were just kayaking for the sake of saying we did. Fishing was tough because all of the Lilly pads that made it almost impossible to bring up a fish with out the line snapping. We weren't able to go horseback riding because it was booked for two weeks out. This was not at all what we were expecting when we planned a carefree camping experience. The park is beautiful but the next time we come we will just bring our own everything and camp the traditional way, at least I will know what to expect and can't complain about the luxuries I paid for but did get.

Lake Louisa Campground is a great place to stay. The area is well maintained, with clean bathhouses and GORGEOUS views. The trails are great to hike. We saw deer and rabbits daily. If you get a chance to go horseback riding, it is worth the money. The horses are clearly well cared for. The wranglers took the time to match the best combination of rider to horse. Sarah Beth (our wrangler guide) was super knowledgeable of the surrounding ecosystem, so our ride was fun, with beautiful views, and an education! Be sure to stick around to watch the sunset over the lake.

My daughter and I had a great day trip here. We did the kayaking tour with Ms. Stacey and walked several of the trails. Ms. Stacey was a fantastic tour guide. We loved our pictures. The trails near the lake are quite easy with lots of beautiful trees, small creeks, golfer turtles and other creatures. It’s quite and relaxing. They also have cabins, glamping and more. We will be coming back for the Fall. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary from busy Orlando or Tampa that won’t break your budget, i highly recommend this park. They have several restaurants within a 10 minutes drive. We ate at San Jose Mexican Restaurant. We enjoyed our food.

We have been visiting Lake Louisa for I believe over 8 years when we spend a month during the winter from Connecticut. It’s the first place we go to and the last as we leave to go home. Very recently I had an opportunity to take a horseback ride with my daughter in law. If you have a chance, I recommend it highly! Our guides were Tracy and Cadence who were wonderful! They were very patient and helpful and knowing they do this so many times a day/week, they treated the experience for us as though it was their first one. It was a very windy day (30 mph gusts) and they kept us and the horses safe and it was such fun! The horses are very gentle and well behaved. Truly go for a ride!

My family and I went on a 2 hr trail ride on June 16th, 2021. Every part of it was fantastic! We started our morning at the stables around 8:00am. We had a few minutes to pet the horses and chat with the guides. We watched a short safety video and were assigned our horses. This was our 2nd time here but our first 2 hr. ride. All of us had a fantastic time. Our 10 yr old had so much fun and fell in love with her horse, Star. She's now horse obsessed and has started saving money to buy her own. Mommy always loves the horses and enjoyed her ride on cornbread as well. I on the other hand, am not an outdoors type and typically go for more relaxing, air conditioned activities but have to say that my horse Gigi has me wanting to go back again. She's like driving a Tesla. She's easy to handle and knows to stop and go based on the horse in front of her. After spending the morning strolling through this beautiful park on these gentle giants, I'm also looking forward to coming back. Our guides, Misty and Michaela, were friendly and knowledgeable and really made the day fun for all of us. Even if your not a huge fan of the outdoors, I would recommend coming to the stable at Lake Louisa State Park for a really enjoyable ride.

Yeehaw! Thanks for leaving us such a great review! The trails of Lake Louisa State Park are amazing, and what better way to explore than by horseback? We're so glad Star, Cornbread, and Gigi (plus Mikaela and Misty) helped you have such an awesome adventure, and we hope to see you again soon!

This our family's second year staying at Lake Louisa. We usually come with a group of about 50 friends. Some come with campers, others rent the cabins. Our family stays in the cabins. Last year we got cabin #17, this year we got cabin #6. This cabin has some cosmetic issues. The bathrooms feel like they are sinking in, could be a foundation issue. Possibly due to the Covid situation and being short-staffed, the cabin was not as clean as it was last year. Temps were on the 50's, so we opened the windows, which seemed had no been opened in a while and things were dusty. However, that's nothing 30min cleaning cant fix.

Now the positives, this place is beautiful! The lake view from the cabins, the sunsets, firepits, the trails, the night sky, biking, the horseback riding, and kayaking, all tie in to make it a wonderful experience. Dark skies, if you are into astrophotography. I was able to take great photos of the Pleiades, Andromeda, Orion's nebula. Lots of local stuff to do. Groceries, restaurants, movies, very close driving distance. Disney about 25min away. Overall, we really had a great experience, and plan to book again for next year.

**Note to Management**
Cabins need a little TLC, this place is great and I would hate to see it decline.

I honestly do not think I can fully express the amazing experience my family and I shared. I booked this experience through Groupon during Christmas for 4 riders to do a 1 hr trail and it was the most enjoyable day from the moment we arrived with meeting our guides who are all amazing and really made my family and I extremely comfortable to the knowledge they carefully went over with us. They are very passionate with their positions and with the horses which my family and I loved. The whole experience was truly unforgettable and we look forward to returning to do the 2 hour trail!! If I could give more stars it would be 10 :)
