We have been visiting Lake Louisa for I believe over 8 years when we spend a month during the winter from Connecticut. It’s the first place we go to and the last as we leave to go home. Very recently I had an opportunity to take a horseback ride with my daughter in law. If you have a chance, I recommend it highly! Our guides were Tracy and Cadence who were wonderful! They were very patient and helpful and knowing they do this so many times a day/week, they treated the experience for us as though it was their first one. It was a very windy day (30 mph gusts) and they kept us and the horses safe and it was such fun! The horses are very gentle and well behaved. Truly go for a ride!

Beautiful area with various overnight experiences available. Cabins, eco tents, clamping and sites for campers. We chose glamping and the tent was exactly as pictured. The bed was comfortable and it was spacious. The AC worked well, although it was so hot (90+degrees) it was evening before it was really cool. But that’s to be expected in such hot weather, so it was all good. We were able to enjoy the evening very well. The bathrooms and showers were quite clean and convenient - an excellent amenity. We only spent one night but experienced the Segway tour the next day with Jason, who was really great. He was very knowledgeable and shared his passion for the outdoors. We spent over an hour riding through the property past lakes and through the various eco systems. The butterflies were amazing and we saw several varieties in major quantities. It was a perfect way to end our stay. We recommend the park for anyone who loves camping of any sort, and for those who love outdoor activities such as boating, kayaking, paddle boarding or fishing. We would like to return and participate in the horse trail ride.

My daughter and I had a great day trip here. We did the kayaking tour with Ms. Stacey and walked several of the trails. Ms. Stacey was a fantastic tour guide. We loved our pictures. The trails near the lake are quite easy with lots of beautiful trees, small creeks, golfer turtles and other creatures. It’s quite and relaxing. They also have cabins, glamping and more. We will be coming back for the Fall. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary from busy Orlando or Tampa that won’t break your budget, i highly recommend this park. They have several restaurants within a 10 minutes drive. We ate at San Jose Mexican Restaurant. We enjoyed our food.

Lake Louisa Campground is a great place to stay. The area is well maintained, with clean bathhouses and GORGEOUS views. The trails are great to hike. We saw deer and rabbits daily. If you get a chance to go horseback riding, it is worth the money. The horses are clearly well cared for. The wranglers took the time to match the best combination of rider to horse. Sarah Beth (our wrangler guide) was super knowledgeable of the surrounding ecosystem, so our ride was fun, with beautiful views, and an education! Be sure to stick around to watch the sunset over the lake.

I honestly do not think I can fully express the amazing experience my family and I shared. I booked this experience through Groupon during Christmas for 4 riders to do a 1 hr trail and it was the most enjoyable day from the moment we arrived with meeting our guides who are all amazing and really made my family and I extremely comfortable to the knowledge they carefully went over with us. They are very passionate with their positions and with the horses which my family and I loved. The whole experience was truly unforgettable and we look forward to returning to do the 2 hour trail!! If I could give more stars it would be 10 :)

This our family's second year staying at Lake Louisa. We usually come with a group of about 50 friends. Some come with campers, others rent the cabins. Our family stays in the cabins. Last year we got cabin #17, this year we got cabin #6. This cabin has some cosmetic issues. The bathrooms feel like they are sinking in, could be a foundation issue. Possibly due to the Covid situation and being short-staffed, the cabin was not as clean as it was last year. Temps were on the 50's, so we opened the windows, which seemed had no been opened in a while and things were dusty. However, that's nothing 30min cleaning cant fix.
Now the positives, this place is beautiful! The lake view from the cabins, the sunsets, firepits, the trails, the night sky, biking, the horseback riding, and kayaking, all tie in to make it a wonderful experience. Dark skies, if you are into astrophotography. I was able to take great photos of the Pleiades, Andromeda, Orion's nebula. Lots of local stuff to do. Groceries, restaurants, movies, very close driving distance. Disney about 25min away. Overall, we really had a great experience, and plan to book again for next year.
**Note to Management**
Cabins need a little TLC, this place is great and I would hate to see it decline.

The modern cabin was clean with a screened porch that was lovely especially in the evenings. The well-equipped kitchen allowed for cooking inside but if you prefer, the fire ring outside is always a great option. The central air & heat are there if you prefer not to open all the doors & windows to bring the outside in. The views at the lakes are gorgeous especially at sunset and there is plenty to do. The horseback trail ride, hiking and bike trails are just some of the options to take advantage of when you visit beautiful Lake Louisa State Park. It is a true gem of North Central Florida.

Beautiful park with nice amenities and pleasant staff. We glamped in the cabins which are very comfortable and have lovely and spacious porches overlooking a lake. The only downside is the fireplaces are not working and the kitchen is not very well stocked, especially if you are cooking for a group. We rented kayaks and had a nice peaceful paddle on a small lake. The Camp canteen staff were very nice and helpful, as were all camp staff we spoke too. Lots of paths for walking and paved roads for biking. It’s one of many great Florida parks!

I purchased the luxury glamping experience and that is not what we had. When we arrived the zippers to our tent was broken and unable to close. The canteen employee was very sweet and did all she could to accommodate us. She went and got clips to clamp it shut so the bugs wouldn't get in. Then there was holes everywhere in the tent and when it rained everything got soaked. The a/c unit took forever to start cooling and never really cooled until the evening time. There was nothing to see while kayaking. We were just kayaking for the sake of saying we did. Fishing was tough because all of the Lilly pads that made it almost impossible to bring up a fish with out the line snapping. We weren't able to go horseback riding because it was booked for two weeks out. This was not at all what we were expecting when we planned a carefree camping experience. The park is beautiful but the next time we come we will just bring our own everything and camp the traditional way, at least I will know what to expect and can't complain about the luxuries I paid for but did get.

This was such a great experience. I booked the guided horseback tour for both my partner and I as a birthday gift for my partner and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. From the time of booking to the day the tour started everyone who helped made it great was beyond impeccable. The trainers and tour guides were very friendly, professional and ultimately made this whole experience very personal and if I could give them 100 stars out of 100 I definitely would. I definitely plan to return and joint their member program as the park itself is so tranquil and great way to take a break from the real world.
Thanks again for everything and we look forward to returning. Thanks, Jordan

Where is the best place to take family photos?

Truly anywhere. I see many taking photos at the first area after you pass the ticket booth- it is on the right called Sunset Area. There are also areas near the lakes that are very pretty- pretty docks. Also on the nature trail at Lake Louisa parking lot- beautiful areas on the trail. Hope this helps!

Can you go here for the day for a family picnic or is it a camping only place?

There are covered pavilions by the lake that would be great for a picnic. You could definitely spend a day exploring this beautiful park.

Oh yes!! There are many very nice, well-maintained trails for walking and biking. When you visit this park, you will be amazed at just how many people visit here just to take advantage of the wonderful biking/walking trails throughout this park and there are several lakes within the park and some of the trails follow paths near those bodies of water in very nice tree-shaded areas.

What are best RV campsites -closer to lake for a view or away from lake area for more shade? First time to camp there . Thanks

There is a camping section of the park, and there is a beach. You could walk, but it might be a long one. It’s not as close as camping on the lake. I haven’t been to Lake Louisa for a while, so this might not be completely accurate.

All the cabins have the large porches. The lower numbers have less trees in front of them .Every other cabin is set back a bit all have nice views of the lake, as I mentioned the higher numbers have a few trees in front of the lake

I had internet from my phone plan. I don't think there was a separate Wi Fi you can log into. Check at the Rental desk it might be available for purchase. I had no trouble with phone service or text messages all good. Its a beautiful place hope you can put your phone away that's what I did for the most part enjoy the moment.

Which cabins at Louisa have the fewest steps? Elderly mother not in a wheelchair so we don’t need cabin 16 or 17 but can’t find pictures of entrances to see how many steps to get in to the others.
Thanks.

I would like some suggestions for which RV campsites are level, dry, and somewhat private for a 25 foot motor home? I will be there next February or March 2019.

Robin we just left Lake Louisa State Park this past Monday (5/21). All campsites are nice' but not all have full hookups (water, electric and sewer). There is a dump station closed to the camp. Lake front sites have no sewer,
The park is great I highly recommended. Comfort areas are very clean. We are planning to return soon since is about 25 miles from Disney World.
