My husband and I decided to hop in the car and explore a new town and Clermont was about an hour away so we chose it. We didn't have an itinerary we decided to simply explore and see what the town had to offer. We were really surprised to find Lakeridge Winery and from the moment you enter the grounds your experience starts. Seeing the grape vineyard (and not fruit trees as other wineries we've visited), and the friendly gentleman greeting us outside explaining what to expect started our tour off nicely.

Unlike other vineyards they had about 9 tasting stations spread apart throughout the entire building and area where the wines are stored. Each person was knowledgeable on the wine they were offering and answered all questions with a smile.

The wines were all delicious. At the end we bought several bottles. The gift shop had a lot of interesting products and accessories to add to your bar. Every area was clean and well lit.

Then the surprise is that outdoors there is a large open area with a stage where performers entertained on the weekends. You can bring your lawn chairs or grab a seat at the picnic tables. Tip: bring lawn chairs to ensure you get the perfect spot.

Only suggestion would be to have more substantial food offerings. We had to leave early to eat because what they have are cheese/cracker trays. So be prepared to either eat first or plan your visit inbetween meals.

We took the VIP package. The Host, Thomas Murphy, and the rest of the staff, MADE the experience unforgettable. They were not expecting us on this day, however, they had no tours scheduled so they were able to accommodate us. Thomas did a great job giving us our VIP tour, taking our picture, and helping us enjoy our tasting. The whole experience was amazing. We left happy and uplifted! So much so, we returned a couple of days later to purchase some more of their delicious wines! Thomas and Lakeridge Winery have made some more Texas & Louisiana friends for life. Too bad our states won't allow shipping of their wines - oh well, we'll just have my son who lives in Tampa make "a run" before he heads our way! :-)

I loved exploring here with my husband wine tasting is free unless you want to get to get the reserve. Outside on Saturday they have music and food both which were amazing. The frozen wine slushee was amazing and kept me cool. Would recommend bringing chairs to sit enjoy the weather and good music and wine.

Yesterday my boyfriend and I visited the Lakeridge Winery for a date. We came looking to tour and taste test different wines. We arrived at 2 pm and walked inside where we were greeted by an older gentleman who asked if we would like to "Get to work." Having hearing problems, I thought he said, "Would you like to go tour?" I replied, "Yes!" To which my boyfriend corrected me and told me he had asked us if we would like to get to work. The employee jokingly asked If I had been drinking, and I said no I had not. The older gentleman replied by saying, " Well I'll tell you what, If I don't hear anything negative about you two upstairs, I might let you try my wine slushie." I was thrown off by hearing him ask if we would like to get to work and to also say, "If I don't hear anything negative about you.."

So that was weird.

Then we walk upstairs to watch the informative video about Lakeridge. After the video, we go to the viewing deck to view where they package the wines. From there, we walked into the wine tasting room.

The employee pouring the cups of wine for visitors did not acknowledge my boyfriend and I, but handed a cup to every individual at the table. Thinking we had just been missed accidentally, my boyfriend reached to grab us two sample cups. Once he got two cups, the employee very rudely said, "I pass out the cups here."

We apologized and said we didn't know, backed up, and waited. The employee AGAIN poured cups of wine for the entire other group and ignored us. After that, I felt extremely uncomfortable and told my boyfriend I feel unwelcome here and we should leave.

My boyfriend and I had been talking about this date for weeks. I do not know if they treated us poorly because we are in our 20's or if it's because my boyfriend is black. Either way, we felt totally unwelcome here and will not be going back or recommending to anyone we know.

Arriving, we realized that Lakeridge was having a wine festival. The traffic control pointed us to park on a grassy slope. A golf cart picked us up and delivered us to the door. That was a nice beginning.
Inside, the place was humming with customers. The staff had set themselves around a pathway throughout the facility to offer a wine tasting.
The tasting was free after providing proof of age. Given a plastic cup (half the size of a shot glass), we started the tour. Each taste was barely enough to actually "taste ". I don't believe the total of ten pours would even amount to an eighth of a regular glass.
Of course, the tasting ended in the gift shop.
Getting back outside, we started to head to the festival. It was $10 a head just to get in to the vendors. It seems to me that it wasn't enough to get a poorly run tasting and expensive gift shop but, to charge for the ability to spend money at the vendors, was beyond reasonable.
The four of us decided to head somewhere else than to pay, pay, pay!
In my estimation, it was not a good experience.

After living in Central Florida for 23 years, we finally made it to Lakeridge Winery. We had a wonderful time with the VIP tour! Our guide, Ronda, was very knowledgeable about the history of the winery and wine and answered every one of our many questions. We learned quite a bit in the tasting room and had so much fun sampling all the wines. After the tour was over we had a. It if time to enjoy the band and gorgeous fall weather. It was a great way to spend a Sunday!!!

I have been going to Lakeridge for years. Every year we learn more about their winery, as well as decide to bring home a different wine they have. If you like sweater wines, then you will be VERY satisfied. They raise their own grapes, and use them for their Southern White, Southern Red, Chablis, and Sunblush as well as others, but these four are, in my opinion, their best. I always catch one of their sales, which they have all the time.

Visited Lake Ridge Winery over a weekend in January. Very quick tour of the facility (Non producing months) with a variety of wine selections. Given the area of the country and its exceptional climate is hard to grow any other grape other than Muscadine. Having said that, Lakeridge Winery has managed to create a wine selection that is certainly a fit for many people.

The winery has a great store where every single wine you might have tasted in the production area is available. Most of the selections offered provide a variety of wines that most people would enjoy. there is even a port wine as well. I purchased several bottles and we are still enjoying them, once we run out we'll have to schedule another trip!

The days in which the winery has some type of entertainment, you can go to the upstairs bar and listen to music while you enjoy yet another glass of your choice. However, I wish they had better food choices, I am not suggesting a full restaurant service, but better quality and selection so you enjoy a glass with better cheese or better crackers and other selections. They were not available this time around.

Additionally, they have ample grounds and a great facade to bring a bit of Spain/California wineries feel to it. There is even more entertainment outside and a large stage for music performances.

Overall a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon in central Florida. Just make sure you stay nearby and have someone else do the driving!!

Excellent time

As a birthday present for me and my wife, our son surprised us with a VIP Tour and Tasting at the Lakeridge Winery. We have been to the winery a few times but this was the first time we got to understand the entire operation. Our guide, Jose', was excellent first showing us a short film and then taking us on a walking tour of the winery. You get a sense of true family with the employees truly enjoying interacting with customers and each other.

The wine tasting allowed us to sample all of their wines accompanied with a meat and cheese tray for each of us. At the end of the tasting we were given a full glass of our favorite wine, a wine glass, cork screw, wine stopper, and a bottle of the wine of our choice. We completed the experience at an outside table finishing our glass of wine and one of the two cheese trays.

A really fun experience!

Highly recommend booking the exclusive VIP tour with Kerry. He was beyond exceptional and made the experience worth while. Not only did we get to tour behind the scenes areas and have a private room to taste and enjoy the food and wine. He also was so knowledgeable and kind in teaching us about wine culture to us newbies. Will definitely come back and visit Kerry soon. Such a fun birthday evening!
