We went in the evening and the walk to the end of the pier is interesting as they had vendors displaying goods for purchase. I believe we hit it at the right time as a break dance performance at the start of the pier with a large crowd which we walked past to head out to the end of the pier. Great view of the Gulf and back to the beach - especially at night. Be prepared it costs a $1 or $2 to get through the gate toward the end and they don't seem to be thrilled to make change.

Large fishing pier located at the center of Clearwater beach but it is so much more as sunset approaches. There are many vendors selling crafts and some performers such as a fire show. It was a fun atmosphere but it was very crowded with no social distancing and less than half the people with masks. It has some benches along the pier and plenty of places to get some nice photos. It is free but you have to pay $1 to get out to the last 1/3 of the pier. This is a fun activity for the family and the price is right.

We enjoyed the Pier 60 experience. Went early in the evening with plans to watch the sunset and got so much more The pier is full of vendors selling their items which was really nice, lots of things to choose from and look at. About midway there is a gate and you can go beyond to the end of the pier for $1....do it ...you get some amazing sunset views and there are lots of fisherman out trying their luck. Great picture opportunities and sunset views.

We had been to Key West Sunset Celebration and was hoping for the same experience with Pier 60 Sunset Festival – We were disappointed in comparison. We drove to the area over a hour before sunset, and found parking to be impossible. After over paying for parking with a long walk to the pier, we founded it to be overcrowded for a Thursday evening. The Pier itself is fill on both sides with people selling tourist trinkets making it even more crowded to get around. The street performers consisted of a guitar player, some dancers and after sunset a juggling act that we end up leaving before the end of the show. I would suggest finding a less tourist & crowded area to Enjoy sunset.

Lat year we stayed right at Clearwater Beach so we hit sunset at the pier every night. This year we stayed farther down near Treasure Island but we made a point of catching sunset at the Pier one time. Its like a small festival. People playing on the beach, artist and vendors selling cool stuff, pelicans posing for pics and a great view of sunset at the end of the pier. Bonus this year - we got to see a fisherman catch a shark.

A very cool pier to check out!
We visited this in December 2018 and January 2019 and found it neat seeing the local fishermen catching versions species.
Tons of pelicans (waiting for scraps) too.
As a result, my son and I ended up coming here very early (6am) one morning and paid to fish. We brought our own rods and with some advice from a local, we had some great success! We caught (and released) about 40 sugar trout by jigging with shrimp.
We also saw a sea turtle, some stingray sand dolphins.
It’s close enough to eat at local restaurants, but parking can be tricky to find unless you arrive early or are willing to walk a bit of a distance.
Lots happening and would recommend if you’ve never been!

Besides being in a beautiful location the peer offers some good fishing. We have been here a number of times and each time we seem to catch something different. I like the fact that there is a little store there to buy or rent equipment if need be and use the bathroom facilities all for a reasonable price.

The pier had some vendors like at a craft fair. It had a big blow up slide to go down. We went out there to see the sunset but they charge $1.00 a person to go out there. We did see an ok street performer. It was something to check out but have no need to go back to.

Fun vibe and great views. The first part of the pier was filled with art and craft vendors. Very unique, and we actually found a bracelet maker that had a bracelet with our son's name on it...first time ever. The second part of the pier was for fishing and enjoying the views, and again, it did not disappoint. Pier is clean, and most of the people are friendly. We actually went there multiple time during our vacation.

Pier 60 is located at the center of the Beach Walk extending 1,080 feet into the gulf and is a great spot for the incredible sunsets. Before and after sunsets, vendors line the pier and there is a gift shop halfway and a fishing area at the end costing a $ to go past the shop. Nice views of the shoreline from the pier.

Wife and I coming late June and would like to bring our portable game set which is like a combination of badminton and Pickleball. If we can find a flat space on the public beaches just north or south of Pier 60, are such games permitted? Search Sandy pickle to see what the game looks like of you need to see it before answering - not sure posting it here here is permitted

How will Friday July 2 be for Clearwater Beach? Want to rent chairs and umbrellas. Do we need to be there at the crack of dawn to snatch chairs?

We personally got there around 10:00 a.m. everyday and never had a problem one day we were running behind and were there around noon and still got a cabana and 6 chairs so it all just depends on the traffic that day!

What is the best time to find parking?

There is parking there. It depends on the weather. I would advise going 2 hours prior to sunset to try and get parking there are plenty of things to do prior to sunset
Just make sure you are on pier about 1/2 hours to get a good spot
