Nice quiet local beach.. Take you own chairs and umbrella unless you don't mind paying for the rentals. Parking is not free it is $5.00 for all day. There are bathrooms and changing booths at the bath houses. Out door shower for sand. I do recommend swim shoes there are shells everywhere and may cause cuts. But all I all... More

The water was clear on the day we visited. Although, I believe water clarity is linked to weather and tides. The beach was clean. Depending on what your ideal beach experience is you'll either love this place or hate it. I'm from Florida and look for spots where I can avoid the pricey tourist traps. There is nothing here but... The beach was really beautiful with a rock jetty out to the ocean alongside. The facilities were nice and there are trails around the park for bird watching. The shoreline rewards you with gorgeous sea shells mixed in the washed ashore sea grass. The best shells catch in the seawood like grass and lay undisturbed until you unearth (unsand) the... More

Spent an evening strolling hand in hand south from the car park. Walked miles and only met a handful of people. It's much quieter than Clearwater and a great place to catch those fantastic sunsets while watching the pelicans fish. #lifeintheslowlane

Sand Key is a really good beach that is less crowded than up the road. They have rental options and a food truck if needed. Sand is really good and is in walking distance to the Sheraton if you need another option for drinks or food. They do not have restaurants in walking distance like Clearwater Beach or Indian Rocks... The beach is very good and not too crowded , if you compare it with Clearwater beach, but the sand is better in Clearwater beach, which is located across the bridge. Lot's of parking spaces in the park near by, not expensive.

Nice beach. We rented a set of 2 chairs & an umbrella for $25 in front of the Sheraton. We also enjoyed walking down the beach. Shells were abundant & it was not crowded.

If we are looking to just stop at the beach, easy parking this is it. Little walk across beach to water. Sand is more coarse than Clearwater beach with a more sudden drop off once you are in the water. There are showers and bathrooms. Across from beach parking is a fenced in dog park, pavilions with bathrooms and a... More
