We drive right past busy Clearwater beach which might be more fun for the social crowd or teenagers showing off their bikinis. We enjoyed the no frills Sand Key beach. Quieter, less crowded, great beach for a swim. Good changing rooms and bathrooms, with outdoor showers to rinse the sand off. Five dollars gets you parking all day and no... More

Always swim at the beaches by Pier 60 - Clearwater - but thought we would try Sand Key. Rough hard sand and seaweed. We won't return .

Great place to spend the day. A great place for photo ops. Early or late in the day is best. There will most likely be a wedding taking place if you go early on the weekend! lots of shells. $5 parking for till sunset. Vending machines and clean bathrooms and showers. This park is usually not as crowded as Clearwater... More

Beautifully landscaped parking that sets the stage to enter a tropical dream. Boat traffic in the channel, palm trees, long white sand beach is a tropical dream. Paid parking does reduce the beach traffic and it feels very special.

Sand Key Park and Sand Key Beach are so peaceful! Great place to park the car and enjoy the park or walk across the street to the beach. Makes for a lovely day!

Not too far from Clearwater beach, but has fewer people and easy parking. Very clean beach and lots of sand and easy access into the water.

This was our first option in our family vacation in Clearwater Beach. The parking is great, very close to the beach and a very reasonable fee of US$5 that is nothing if you compare it with what you have to paid for a parking spot in the Beachwalk. If you are planing taking with you some beers to combat the... More

Walking trails through interesting marshlands with aquatic birds, multiple playgrounds, picnic areas, 3 fishing piers, public beach, jetty for fishing. Dog park with areas for small and large dogs. Only drawback is the parking fee which is not excessive for the beach but is way too much for exercising your dog on a daily basis. No entry fee.

Parking was easy and the beach was clean and less crowded the Clearwater Beach. I would go back to this beach.

This is in a State Park, which makes this beach a little nicer. You will pay to get into the park, but you also get to enjoy the restrooms/changing rooms that are close to the beach. Great walking paths and close parking to the beach. Always a great place to watch the sunset.
