Booked an early morning fishing trip for a half day. Clearwater was not overly busy driving in at this hour, and the half day fishing trip was great. Larry gave clear instructions, and he and the rest of the crew made sure everyone enjoyed their trip. They untangled lines, removed fish from hooks, replaced lost hooks, and even provided fish cleaning at the end of the trip.

Inside, Frank had fresh complimentary coffee first thing in the morning, and had beer, soft drinks, and a full menu available all trip at reasonable prices.

Today was a great day.

We really had a lot of fun. (Don’t call me) Larry worked so hard to make sure we were fishing as much as possible. I really recommend that you take your fish to the restaurant and have them cook it for you. It’s $11pp and you can get it blackened, grilled or fried. I recommend blackened. It is served with fried and slaw. It was really good.

Overall the excursion was fantastic! ! Don’t put money in the parking meter, you can buy a $6 pass at the Queen Fleet admission booth. The crew members are amazingThey are right there to help you with anything you need. I recommend taking a light jacket as it gets cool on the water. Be sure to pack sunscreen, drinks and snacks although both are available for purchase. My dad and I bought Dramamine before the trip and ended up taking it because the water was a bit rough.
After we got back the crew members will clean your fishing, no set price, we gave him $10 to clean 6 fish. We took our fish to the Salty Cracker restaurant and they will grilll or fry it for you. They serve coleslaw and fries with your fish for 10.99 a person. This is not your five star fishing trip and not for a princess. It’s was amazing!

The experience was okay. We normally go once a month but the company we usually use was already booked. Our biggest complaint was the attitude of the mates on the boat, especially the long haired one. We were NEVER informed of their names but he had a surly attitude and was not very helpful. When asked what kind of fish were caught, all he would say is a smart alec comment or "a small one". He also just threw fish back in the water without measuring and assuring the customer that they were not of keepable length. I will most likely not return to this boat again.

Mates were very good to us, especially Lou. He spent time to answer all my wife's questions and was very personable, especially talking about subjects not related to the day's fishing. There was another mate, unfortunately we never did get his name. Also a nice guy. He running back and forth and making sure that our fish made it to the cooler; also that we were following proper technique so that we were as successful catching fish. When I pointed out that my wife's pole would need more line after this trip he immediately brought out another one right away with plenty of line on the spool.
A 4-hour trip is a bit short for my taste. (I'm probably a little greedy that way). I realize that red tide closer to shore made it necessary to travel a little farther in order to find fish. However, with travel times we really only fished for approximately 1:15 or so.
Nonetheless, we learned that my wife would be comfortable on an 8-hour trip with a boat like this, and we plan to come again. I will also recommend this to any guests we have in the future as a great alternative to the usual attractions like Disney or Universal Studios, etc.

We had a good trip! Everyone on the boat had a great time - lots of laughs and lots of fish caught. We were extremely pleased with the crew as they made everyone happy and relaxed. Afterwards, the crew filleted our catches for a small fee and we took our fish to a nearby restaurant for them to cook up for dinner. It was a nice way to spend a sunny January afternoon!

We decided to do the half day morning trip and it was SO much fun. The captains/crew were awesome and did anything to make sure their guests were comfortable and having fun. It was a super relaxed, fun trip. No stress whatsoever, which was exactly what we needed. They had food for sale on the boat for really low prices, and we were allowed to bring a cooler on the boat. Highly recommend bringing water/Gatorade because it is HOT. The captain took us to three fishing spots and we had success at each of them. We opted to have our catch filleted for a small fee and brought it right home for dinner. By far, the freshest fish I have ever tasted. Definitely plan on going again.

This is probably my 6th half day with Queen Fleet. Being somewhat local it is always my go-to when friends or family are in town and want a little fishing action, particularly great for a budget. The crew is always great. We decided to go out on a whim today and purchased our tickets in the morning online. Larry and Frank were Awesome!! Good times all around.

I had a lot of fun because I haven't been fishing in a long time. The deck hand and the trip was fine. The problem I have with the Queen Fleet deep sea fishing head boat is that they advertise "deep sea fishing". I have lived in the Tampa Bay area all my life and I have certain expectations when I am deep sea fishing. I never thought that I would go deep sea fishing for Grunts. I only can imagine that this may be fishing for an out-of-towner or a novice fisher, but this is definitely not fishing for me. I can catch grunts off of the Skyway Bridge. When I think of deep sea fishing that means I'm paying you to take me to catch fish that I can't normally catch inshore. I was flabbergasted to think that grunts were going to be the highlight of the fishing trip. The deck hands and the first mate continued to sell us on How Great grunts taste. I am sorry I will never $87 again to catch grunts. The fillets are very small so to make a meal you need several. I also watch the captain of the vessel just put us in close proximity to where we first touchdown. So I can only imagine that the same species of fish thrive in this area. I just wish that he would have some close GPS coordinates to put anglers on several species of fish.

Been on a few different charters and always had a good time but this time we brought our 2 x 7 year old grandkids. The staff was so amazing, acknowledged the kids by name every time they were by us. Joked around with them and made them feel comfortable, encouraged them, showed them different fish. We bought them hats, one ended up in the gulf due to wind and they replaced it w/o me even asking. They also had no problem with the kids moving around the boat freely. I’m terrible with names but the half day crew on 8/2 (road runner and the rest of the crew) made this a life long memory for them that they will never forget! For that I am thankful and would highly recommend them for your next trip with or w/o kids!!
