Switchgrass Outfitters Hog Hunt
Don’t miss this great hunting opportunity while in Florida!!!
We did an airboat night time hog hunt with Seth and Bobby and their dogs and it was one of the best things we have ever done in Florida. Seth is an absolute wonder at maneuvering his 800 horsepower airboat in and around the St. John’s river area. So be ready for a ride and an adventure of a lifetime. The hunting dogs are on high alert from the moment they get on the boat. Once they catch the sent of a hog the chase is on. The dogs take off into the thick of the switchgrass in pursuit. When they catch up to the hog they surround him and call us in with their barks and the hog squeals. Now it’s our time to follow the tracker and relieve the dogs. Hustling through the thick brush as the dogs patiently keep the hog surrounded your heart is pounding in anticipation of what kind of hog they have found. For us it was a huge boar! We leg the hog flip it and give it the killing stab. You’re not killing from a distance with a rifle or bow on this hunt it is up close and personal. We can’t wait to come back and do it again!

Definitely a 5 out of 5. Seth was very knowledgeable about everything he was showing us. Gators, birds, landscape, history, he knew it all! We have never done one of these tours before so we don’t have anything to compare it to but this one was FANTASTIC. Seth was born and raised on the land he was showing us and he is raising his family there. He truly seems to love what he’s doing and shares his knowledge and pride with his clients. Paying the $10 extra for the “sunset tour” was very much worth it. My daughter says she got her best sunset pictures ever. And, oh yes, we saw gators!!!

Without question, the best airboat tour offered in Christmas/Titusville. Seth was incredible with his first hand knowledge of the area and ability to go places where other airboat operators cannot.
Seth is not an operator, he is an experienced guide. He teaches with facts that will remain with you long after a tour. (What is the significance of the measurement between the nose and alligator’s eyes?)
We have taken several airboat rides with another nearby operator. But, it did not compare with where we able to go with Seth and his ability to resonate with children through adults.
The ride was both exciting and peaceful. The scenery was exceptional. The path taken was unique and not at all familiar as compared to our previous experience and we saw more wildlife and alligators than in our 4 previous trips combined with another larger airboat operator. Expect your ride to be unique and the knowledge shared based on what he “sees” that day.
Seth….authentic as it gets, professional and his fee is reasonable. There was no obvious gratuity “ask” from the Seth. However, I was more than willing to do so.
We will return. You earned a repeat customer and will (and have) share the experience with others.

We had an amazing tour with Seth! He was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He has grown up in the area so it feels like he is giving you a tour of his old stomping grounds. The river is gorgeous and Seth takes you on a fast, thrilling 90 minute ride while pointing out wildlife and telling the history of the river. I highly recommend!!

We had an airboat tour with Seth and it was absolutely amazing. Unlike the other airboats his was able to go far over land to see gators nests. He took us to an island with Native American skeletons and pottery, he chased the gators so we could take videos and plenty of pictures, made sure we weren’t thirsty, and took us to beautiful forests. Out of other airboat tours this was the best I’ve ever had by FAR! He went above and beyond and we will definitely be returning.

As part of a cruise Port Canaveral was one of the stops. Ship bought excursions are expensive, there wasn't enough time see Kennedy Space centre properly so we decided to rent a can and do an airboat ride.
I emailed first to see if they had availability. As I don't have a US mobile phone calls would have been expensive. Lisa very kindly downloaded WhatsApp so we could converse easier.

Unfortunately we had missed the morning trips but Lisa gave us the address where the boats leave from. We were very lucky as a group of 4 were about to leave, they kindly allowed us to join them on the 6 seater airboat.

Being small this boat can get to areas the bigger (cruise ship excursion) boats can't.
Seth the driver was so knowledgeable he pointed out things we would NEVER have seen.

We lost count of the number of alligators both smallish youngsters and old 10 foot plus ones. We saw birds of prey turtles and livestock.

Our trip was 90 minutes for $50 each ($150 minimum) they will do other trips if asked.

Well worth getting off the ship for.

We came to Orlando to take in some amusement parks, the beach and an airboat ride. The best part of our trip was the airboat ride with Seth and Switchgrass Outfitters! My family of 5 LOVED this experience! Seth’s boat was perfect for our family and we didn’t have to share it with other visitors. The boat is small enough to get into tight areas for a more perfect experience. We were thrilled to not be spending our money on a large commercialized boat. Seth was amazing and my family all agrees we’d make a special trip just to do another airboat ride with Seth!

We did the night tour and it was an awesome experience. After a slight rain delay the tour was great and saw quite a few gators including a few large ones. Seth was a great guide and even hopped off the airboat at one point trying to chase down a wild hig on foot. Will definitely do again if we have the chance.

I will start off by saying I almost don't want to leave this review; I'd hate for Seth's tours to get so popular when I return I won't be able to schedule another trip with him. But really that be me just being selfish; Switchgrass Outfitters has a great operation and Seth is a fantastic guide.

Seth had great communication prior to the trip telling us when/where to meet/what to bring. He arrived early and got the boat ready to roll by time our tour was due to start. The boat was in good shape and a smaller (6 person max, I think) craft. I saw numerous operators running the larger boats; but I think that would take away alot of the fun: getting up in some tight spots, not having to be crammed on a the boat with a bunch of random people, etc.

Seth was a great guide: he was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we got the opportunity to safely (for us and the wildlife) see numerous critters up close and personal. We saw a wide variety of birds (I'm not really into birds; so I don't remember most of the ones we saw) including nesting eagles, gators from a few years old/few feet long up to 10-12' beasts, and turtles.

This was the best air boat ride in the central Florida area. I'm a local and have gone to two other bigger companies and those were good except you are on a boat with 15 others. Sure you get to see gators and a few more things, Seth here explains the history of things, finds small gator nest, goes to smaller secluded places, and stopped on land where we got off to explore a little. This is in addition to seeing large eagle's nest, gators, cows and birds. We heard a cow mooing loudly that was nearby like 20 yards away behind the bushes. That was just great. Got to spent 15 minutes walking on an island and learning the history of how Indians built that island over hundreds of years with their canoes. I told Seth we will be back and he said he can take us out to different area next time. I'm also planning to go on Seth's hog hunting when the cooler weather comes. There were 7 of us total and we got on two air boats and everyone just raved about this experience.
