We rented Kayaks from Cedar Key Adventures. We had so much fun and the Owners were very informative on where to go.

Although the temp was 50 today, our paddle excursion kept us plenty warm. Super easy launch and return. This area is great to see ON THE WATER, so get out there and enjoy. Owners are super-accomodating and helpful Enjoy😎

Easy to find outfitter in downtown Cedar Key (which really isn't that big). They're on 1st and A Streets, which is basically right on the beach. A friendly lady got us into our mandatory life jackets, into our kayaks and off to a three hour adventure. The kayaks are great quality (Liquidlogic brand) and were easy on my back (which isn't always that case as I tend to suffer from back spasms in kayaks). It's an easy paddle to Atsena Otie Key and some other islands in the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge (read my review on that for more info).

I was a bit nervous of the current to get out to the island of Atsena Otie Key but boy was I wrong. As it was perfect and such a wonderful way to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We did go for the hike on the island to visit the grave site but be warned " BRING BUG SPRAY!!!!" I can not imaging living in these area's when there was no AC and no bug spray!>???!!!! GREAT trip and we thought we would only want to be out for an hour of two, but it was SO beautiful we ended up staying out for about 5 hours and could have stayed longer. Bring a snack, Bring water, and do not forget but spray if you do the hike.

Advertising all says they open at 10am however we arrived at slightly before 10 and waited well after and no one ever showed up. Sadly we missed out on kayaking during our visit to Cedar Key.

Hi! We are so sorry that you missed us! We just put out new signage that is much larger with our phone number on it to let clients know how to reach us if we are not at the beach. We have 3 locations on the island and are always right around the corner. Next time you are in town stop by and we will give you 50% off your paddle! Thank you, David Weible
