We lucked out by stopping here. It turned out the gal who welcomed us had been the Mayor of Cedar Key a couple of times and was still very involved with the community. She gave us so many tips on things to do and sparked our interest in places we would never have thought to do.

The Cedar Key Chamber of Commerce staff is extremely helpful. Its your first stop for information. The Gulf fishing village celebrates seafood and relaxation in equal measure. It's loved for its charming inns, colorful artists and waterfront restaurants along Dock Street that offer fresh catch clams, oysters and crabs for nighttime dinner.

The chamber welcome center is the best place to start your visit. A lady named Sue welcomed us, provided us with brochures, and pointed out all the places we might like to visit. The maps we got were so helpful. Sue also described the local clam farming process; it's amazing especially when you realize that 95% of the clams eaten... More

I always stop here for the friendly information and to buy yard birds. Today was a blue heron and pelican, American-made of course! Found out about the golden retriever even every year.

Folks here were very informative and provided a good outline for how to spend 3 days in this low-key town. We followed most of their suggestions - saved some for a return visit.

My husband and I rode over from Jacksonville for the day and loved the quaint, very clean village. This is a great get away just for lunch, walking, and shopping. Loved the locals art shop! If we hadn't been on a motorcycle I wouldn't have left empty-handed. Next time!

Even though we got there when they were closing...the woman working spent time telling our daughter all about clams and their growing process. Good information and some fun souvenir items. Knowledgeable about the area, gave us ideas for our visit. Super helpful and friendly.

I stopped by to see if I could get information on the sites and places to see in the area. The young lady was preoccupied and told me she had nothing she could offer me. I proceeded to walk through the building to see if I could find anything myself and she acted as if I were trespassing. Not a... More

I went in looking for info. I had some questions about the area. The young woman at the desk never once made eye contact with me to respond to my questions. Disappointing. I found out more about Cedar Key and the area by talking to visitors.
