Thanks to the 45th Space Wing under the command of Brigadier General Wayne R. Monteith, I had the distinct privilege of taking a 3+ hour tour to explore the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station including the oldest standing building (the beautiful lighthouse) and a variety of launch sites from the earliest days up through the Apollo 7 mission (before NASA),... We booked this trip due to our love of lighthouses, but we were very impressed with the rest of the tour as well. We learned a lot of interesting facts about the area, the lighthouse and the air force station and launch pads. The tour was well worth the money and we would highly recommend it to everyone - not... Cape Canaveral Lighthouse is the only U.S. lighthouse on an active military installation, and the only way to see it, without being in the military or a contractor, is this tour! Plus, you get to visit many historic sites in space history, see glimpses of today's space industry, and tour the well done air and space history center. Doug, our... More

Worthwhile to do this lighthouse and Port Canaveral launch pads tour. Doug the tour guide from SunWard does a great job explaining the launch pad sites and history. Highly recommended. It takes about 3 to 4 hours in a nice smaller bus. It needs advance booking since clearance by the Air Force Base is required.

We did this tour not knowing what we'd be in for. Its military like - well it is at an Air Force base. But it lets you in on the facts of the space race with some visits to the actual sites of the 1960 launches. Well done and fun.

A few of us decided to take this tour and so glad we did. We toured the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse which was being run by volunteers and they were very informative and friendly. Then drove around the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and saw all kinds of very interesting sites and Doug, our tour guide was awesome. Described all kinds... More

The 3 hour Cape Canaveral Lighthouse tour by SunWand tours is a nice smaller air conditioned tour bus that accommodates about 20 +/- people. The tour guide and driver are very nice and informative. At the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, all the volunteers had alot of passion for the history and made sure your experience was a great one. The tour... More

SunWard Tours We took a wonderful 3 hour of The Cape Canaveral Lighthouse which was originally built in 1848 was taken over by the U.S. Air Force. SunWard Tours began giving tours in January 2016 after dealing with the government for 7 years to get approval. It is a three hour tour which encompasses the lighthouse, some original and current... This was the best tour I've ever been on. To stand in the spots where history was made and to see things here really made my trip memorable. If you can get a tour here, take it. The volunteer was amazing, he was really informative and really loved what he does, this made for a wonderful experience. I'm a history... More

This is by far one of the best tours we have ever taken. We may even do it again next year. It brings you back in time to when the space program started. The lighthouse is beautiful. Interesting story how it was moved.
