This park is named Manatee Sanctuary because it borders a section of the Banana River that serves as a protected Manatee habitat. While we cannot guarantee that you will see a manatee during your visit, these beautiful creatures have been known to come and feed off the sea grass along the boardwalk. Manatees enjoy warm waters and typically move to inland springs during the winter months. They are considered an endangered species and fall under highly protective legislation. To learn more about these amazing animals, including where to see them year round, please visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website.

Beautiful grounds, but no manatees in sight. It was a very short walk from our hotel , which is how we found it.

Nice name but perhaps an "alternative" name as it does not seem like a good place to view the lumbering manatee. Nice view of the water though.

What a great place to go to for a half day trip.. The park is lovely with natural Florida vegetation.. No manatees seen today but a large porpoise came up and splashed at us in the river. No costs at all! I was honored to see a large flock of Quaker parrots in the tree, as we entered the park..... More

Not too much to see or do. A 1/2 mile level walking paved path and several exercise stations, none challenging unless you're very senior. A short boardwalk with a view of the Banana River. Relaxing.

While we saw no manatees, we enjoyed the view and a round of exercise on the half mile course around the park. Along the way we stopped at the stations for upper torso exercise as well as several for the legs. I am an older dude and found the exercises appropriate for myself as well as a younger friend. I... We decided to visit this park thinking we could see some manatee's but we did not. We did see some birds. There are restrooms here. Nice paved walkway for bikes, rollerblading or just walking/running along the Bananna River. The wooden walkways there had hidden views of the river by trees. There were benches also. Very quiet and relaxing park.

Nice to go see, banana park was very small and manatee park had a nice view. I think it one of those things to go visit once for the memory.

Wonderful, peaceful place to walk along the Banana River. Even if the manatee aren't there - lots of birds & turtles are. Parking, restrooms, picnic tables and grills are available.
