Significant historical facts of Brooksville. The architecture, and peoples of the period are quite interesting to follow.

The most noteworthy thing about this museum is it's large collection of varied items, from military uniforms to medical artifacts. Furnishings, toys, clothes and kitchen utensils. Docents lead complementary tours of this 3 story house. Very interesting.

We were in line to enter and the family in front of us had two children. The one child was close to his mother and she had his hand the entire time. He did not say anything or cause any type of commotion. The other child was very well behaved as well. After the family paid for admission the one... More

Very interesting history of the house and the area with lots of military uniforms, civil war and WW1 relics. Once owned by a doctor it was used as a hospital with most of the equipment on display. It is said to be haunted and they have ghost tours available . Nice way to spend an hour or more.

We enjoyed the step back in time of the Victorian period and the connection to Brooksville. A wedding party was coming in to have pictures taken as we were leaving - a $5.00 fee is charged but we left a larger contribution to help continue to fund the Heritage Museum - worth a visit if your in the area!

We went on the Saturday afternoon tour and then went on the 8pm ghost tour, Both were great. The staff are all volunteers and very knowledgeable and passionate about the May-Stringer House and the history of Brooksville. The admission prices are very reasonable.

The docents were eager to share their knowledge and each room of the house is furnished with unique items. There is a late Victorian kitchen filled with antique food preparation items, a militarization, a communications room with an old telephone switchboard from the two, an old doctor's office and two lovely bedrooms. One of those bedrooms belonged to Jessie Mae... More

Quaint eclectic museum - great idea for a rainy day - over all a fun and informative experience! Each room has it's own theme and collection. The museum guides were friendly and knowledgeable.

The guide was very knowledgeable and took her time explaining the history. The gift shop has some great gift ideas. Too bad we don't live closer, I would love to do the haunted tour.

You are given a personal guide to help you explore this wonderful piece of history. It blows my mind that it is maintained by private donations and volunteers. I take all my out of state visitors to enjoy it and no one has ever been disappointed. There is something for everyone! You are educated on the local history of the... More
