We dove with Sea Kat on our last trip to Anna Maria Island in 2018. It was a great experience. It was my son's first dive after cert and I hadn't dove in many, many years. Jim gave us a refresher on the spot (and even tested us!) and made sure we were familiar with the gear, the procedures and the plan. We had a fun beach dive with him at Spanish Rock. We were going to dive with him again when we returned this year (2021). Unfortunately, I saw on FB that he closed the shop at the end of 2019. Very disappointing. I always stop at dive stores to get a feel for the area. Sea Kat offers charters, equipment rentals and has a moderately sized retail operation. Very friendly. Full of info on the local area and great tips for restaurants.

They were very up-to-date on the tides and the visibility issues in the area. Jim also recommended some dives up in the Crystal Springs area which was very helpful. Their equipment was all new and in great shape. We bought some T-shirts and knives in the store as their prices are pretty decent. They are located in a weird little strip mall but the store is simple, need, and not overcrowded. They were extremely helpful and even let us keep the equipment for an extra day because we got rained out one day. Very accommodating and great people to work with. If you are in the area this is the only dive shop to go to!!…
