This beach is gorgeous, Please note that this isnt your typical public beach. It is surrounded by many private beach clubs, which helps to make it very quiet, however hard to access. Once you can get a parking at one of the public parking areas, you will be happy you visited. Be sure to bring your own chairs, and coolers. There are no public places to buy anything. The bathrooms at the public access areas are so clean, and offer showers post beach visit. I loved this so much!!

A nice private day getaway to spend the family with. The beach and facility was cleaned. Love that lounge chair and umbrella were available. Our kids loved the time spend in the water and strolling the beach to collect shells.

Another beautiful southwest Florida beach located in Bonita Springs. Took my daughter's here on a Saturday after a morning of showing vacation homes for sale in the area. We took an extra long walk and found the secret beach that had the best shells. Had a great afternoon at little hickory island beach park.

This is my new favorite beach! We visit Florida every year and usually go to one of the beaches in Naples or Marco Island. This beach absolutely impressed me. The water was clear, so clear I was able to see sand dollars and a starfish at the bottom while standing up. The walk to the beach from the parking lot is very short, we used entrance #10 and it has restrooms right in the parking lot—very convenient. This is my new go-to beach when visiting. I can’t wait for next year!

When on a leisurely trip, it's neat to spend time with nature. During my recent trip, I enjoyed a kayak tour that included Little Hickory Island.
We arrived via kayak to the island. Our guide provided us with a lot of information about this location, including the differences between low tide and high tide.
It's a great spot to gather sea shells.
Very cool spot.

Our favorite beach in Naples or Bonita Springs. We wet during low tide (which is the point) and was able to walk on the sand bar. More shells than I or my kids had ever seen and we even found many sand dollars, a first. We also found several live crustaceans and living sand dollars, which we of course, left on the beach, but were nonetheless very cool. Highly recommend at low tide!

We found Little Hickory Park by chance. We found a beach access area that had a parking spot. We were so happy we did! This was pure paradise. We crossed the bridge and set up on the powdery white sand. The beach was desolate and I was able to find some pretty shells. We even met a nice little friend—a friendly egret.

Having grown up playing on the beaches of the Gulfcoast, surfed at Point Mugu, 90s spent at the Hamptons and living at South Beach, I have experienced the vastly different beaches up and down both coast. This one offers the best South Florida has in the unspoiled, family beaches of my youth.
A higher quartz content sand than most around, waters that tend to run a bit clearer, fewer visitors, soft waves, a low gradient to the ocean floor making it perfect for our child to sit in and walk to the tide are all positives. Not to mention, we have fiound a ton of "nice" shells over the many visits over the past 20 years, including sharks teeth, starfish and sand dollars regardless of where the tide is.
From a practice standpoint, there are showers, bathrooms and a number of parking spaces . . . But get there early. Parking rate is 2 dollars an hour.
All in all, family beach time at its best.

We went to this park based on some advice. We were told that if you go at low tides, fish get trapped and the dolphins come to feed on the fish. We didn't see any dolphins when we went, but what was pretty cool was at low tides, you can walk out into the Gulf of Mexico about 1/4 mile in ankle deep water. So if you go, you will park in the #10 public parking lot at the north end of the island. You will need to feed the meter $2 for each hour you plan to spend. Walk out to the beach, set up your spot, turn to the right and walk about 1/2 mile north. You'll come to some rocks, but there is a path to go around. It's worth the few extra steps to the shallows area. Have fun.

Is there still a sandbar at the north end of the beach that’s accessible at low tide since Hurricane Ian?

I'm not sure what the rules are-we brought a little cooler with beer My theory is
"don't act stupid "and take your trash with you. there was a couple of young guys that were openly drinking beer and acting like jerks and the island employees went over and talked to them--they left on the next shuttle.
it's a great place to chill out

Written June 27, 2016
The beach is open to the public. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge. I don't know what boat you mean.
