We had a tour with Adventures Kayaking first time in 2013 when the owners Glenn and Sterling Novotny were still doing the tours themselves. I think the years took it out of their bodies and with backpain they're now in the background but the current tourguides are as good as them.
We were lucky in that we had 2 guides (1 of them a "trainee") and we were only us in the group. So it was really a private tour.
The tour was awesome and this time we also went to Big Hickory Beach which is only accessible by boat. We were lucky in that it was low tide and we could walk right up to several colonies of sea birds and pelicans, a lovely sight especially when they started their group flying displays.
Estero Bay is a wonderful place for kayaking, previously we saw manatees and dolphins but this time they weren't on show, it's nature and not a zoo. But we had a sighting of a wonderful pink spoonbill (see photo), which on its own would have been worth the trip.
You can hire a kayak with Adventures Kayaking and others in Estero Bay without a tour but I'd recommend not doing that unless you know the area very well and know where to go and how to get back to where you started. There are so many winding paths through the mangroves that it would be very likely that you'd struggle to find your way back to the launching site. It's almost like a maze.
Another great tour and we'll be back. Adventures Kayaking do change their tour routes, mostly depending on the tides but if you prefer a specific place in Estero Bay I'm sure they'll listen and bring you there.
It was a very enjoyable and memorable morning.

First of all, the Perception kayaks this company provides are stable and easily maneuverable. The weather was perfect with some cloud cover and the tide was high so we were able to pass through tunnels in the mangroves. It was the most serene, relaxing kayak trip I have done in Florida. It was just my friend and I and our guide Dennis.
I definitely recommend this kayak for a unique and outstanding experience.

Awesome tour- education of the ecosystems and laid back fun in nature’s beauty-a perfect mix! Tyler was our guide and was very knowledgeable of his home and willing to share. Pointed out and educated us on the flora/fauna, the critters and waterways….also some shelling/relaxing on a beach for a brief break was included and appreciated. We saw dolphins, countless types of birds, etc. Tyler was great in making the less experienced kayakers comfortable as well. We will tour again with him in the future.

It was a fun 3 hours through the mangroves. Our guide Mark was very knowledgeable about the wildlife, fauna and history of the area.
The issue was, we were suppose to be a group of 8 friends but a group of 5 was also booked with us. Way to difficult to hear all the info he was sharing. Took the full three hours just to keep that large of a group together.

Our family enjoyed a 3 hour kayaking tour of Estero Bay with Nick who was a terrific guide--super knowledgeable and fun to be with. We saw incredible birds, a dolphin, sea urchin, and some beautiful and rare seashells. My 5 year old learned a lot and had a blast.

It was a wonderful experience. Our guide Mark was very pleasant, funny and knowledgeable .We felt very comfortable with him. I highly recommend this trip with this company. We took the kayak eco tour in the am; the path thru the mangroves was so peaceful and beautiful. We saw a dolphin who swam among our kayaks for quite a while.

While in South Florida on vacation my spouse & I were looking to do something we had never done. We saw a lot of SUP’s & kayakers so we thought we’d try kayaking. Glenn & Jacob made our first time doing this such a fun adventure that we can’t wait to go again! Glenn knows so much about this area & the complex ecosystem, you can tell he takes a lot of pride in his home away from home on the waters in Bonita Springs. Want to add that we never felt nervous or clumsy as Glenn explained everything about successful kayaking to us! Thanks Adventures Kayaking for an awesome experience!!

I highly recommend this kayaking adventure. We had a young tour guide Nick, who was great with the kids and showed us a lot along the way about the mangroves, beaches, shells and the water ways we were kayaking in. Really a great trip, the 9am to 12 noon was the perfect trip.

We had a very relaxing time in the canals/bay area following all of the mangrove trees, and then were able to get out into the ocean to kayak around the beach. We saw many different types of birds and about 5 dolphins, which came up to our kayaks. We had a great guide and I'd highly recommend, especially for the price!
My mom did it (65 yrs old) and it was very doable for her for 2-2.5hrs.

We had a terrific day with Adventures Kayaking. It was just my daughter, two young grandsons, me and our guide. He was so good with the little ones and really made the trip fun for them. After we returned home, they both said kayaking was the best day ever! My only complaint - our guide took some great pictures of us and told us he would send them to us since he had our cell phone numbers. It has been three weeks since we were there and we never received the pictures.. very disappointing!
