Bonita beach dog beach is amazing. It is located at the very Southern point of lovers key. You walk through a maze of mangroves to the expansive beach. Our dog not only played with a myriad of dogs- he got to swim with dolphins as well. You meet interseting people from all ages and walks of life. A top attraction for us in the ft myers area.

I have only been to a couple of dog parks in over a decade, but I found this park exceptionally well thought out. I visited during the first week after opening and everything is fresh and new. There are shaded areas with seats and tables, rocks for doing you know what on, but also large enough to run around. Water and waste receptacles. There are three separate areas for small, medium and large dogs. As the park becomes more popular parking may have to be increased (my guess). The area has grass or wood chips, dogs don't get muddy. Would look forward to returning when in the area. Overall, the vibe was really positive and i think visitors were really enjoying their time there.

We travel with our 2 small dogs from MI and take them here. Great place for them to run free and have fun since our condo is small. Just be careful of the bigger dogs.

the beach is nice but a waste to spent on dogs that poop ALL OVER THE PLACE its a known ok to leave it. Dogs will randomly run up and corner you or attack other dogs. There is ZERO security and we all know cops would show up hours late. I did some research and the courts get a bout 13 cases each year from this place. BRING A BIG STICK AND MACE

Can let dog of leash and let it run. Play in shallow water. Waste disposal provided. Recommend not bringing aggressive dogs. Sometimes pretty crowded

We thought our boy would love some freedom to run and meet other dog loving people. The park could be wonderful but we must have gotten a string of IDIOTS who did not have the decency to clean up after their pet elephants. Based on the amount of poop all over and the shear size, Ringling Brothers must have dropped off the Elephants and the lions. Come on people, just because you think the water will rise and wash it away, it is disgusting. We saw one man and his kids with 8 dogs, all well over 100# each. Each one of them had a nice dump and they just pointed and laughed. Taking a picture of two of them taking a dump at the same time. Preserving it forever I guess.

We have visited the Bonita Springs Dog Park...not to be confused with the Dog Beach...on several occasions during our bike rides and will continue to do so. We lost our dog of almost 18 years two months ago and find it therapeutic to take a break and watch the dogs play. From my observation the owners are diligent in cleaning up after their dogs. All I have witnessed is dogs and owners out to have a fun time at the park. I took a few pictures on a couple occasions and am glad I can share them here…you may see your dog among them.

They have 3 different sections for small, medium and large dogs. I take my dogs and the dogs I sit to dog PARK all the time. They have a BLAST!!! There is so much going on there that youll occasionally come across a stray pile but you arent overwhelmed by poo. Cant wait for the trees to fully grow in, it will be even better!

Bonita Springs has a brand new and wonderful dog park. It's one of the nicest I've ever seen. 3sections for big, medium and small dogs. Nicely shaded and well supplied. It's just great.
The dog beach is also great just because it is the ONLY beach in SW Florida where you can legally take your dog off leash. Sadly, is is a crummy stretch of beach and depending on the tide, it virtually disappears. Be prepared to wade through some pretty high water to get out to the beach and also watch for some owners who think that all they need to do is turn their dogs loose while they work on their sun tan. It is much better to go there on a weekday. Weekends can get very chaotic and downright dangerous especially for little dogs. I love to take our larger dog there however. I think I can see the smile on her face as she splashes and digs in the sand. She occasionally gets into games of chase with other dogs, or hide from Mommy in the mangroves....just great fun. A couple of years ago, they added a fresh water rinsing station at the entrance which I think all people and pets should use when they leave. Sometimes it can be hard for even the most responsible pet owner to get to the poop and at low tite it can get a little stinky and nasty.
These are 2 different places. The park is highly recommended for all socialized dogs, the beach is only for those who know the downsides and are willing to put up with it to see the big grin on their dog's face.!

We took our to pups here 2 mornings in a row and they had a blast! There were other dogs, but it was not overly crowded.
Some regular visitors mentioned to us that you should check the tides first, but we got lucky with our timing and were able to keep the human feet dry.
We did see that some people did not pick up after their dogs and that really is a shame.
Overall, I would highly recommend taking your pups for a nice beach to let your fur babies off leash.
