This was on the top of our list for our Pine Island vacation. A nice little bike ride down to the mango grove where we met, Jean, one of the owners. She took the time to tell us all about the different types of mangoes, let us sample their honeys and jams, and helped us pick out some mangoes to take back home. She was very patient and informative.

So sorry that you were not pleased with our shop. We generally have a good deal of inventory, however this time of year we sell out quickly. Actually our prices are quite competitive if not lower than others available on the island.. We very much appreciate all of the people who stop and also return again and again. Side note: the University of Florida over seas the operation of the Randall Research Center (Caloosa Heritage Trail) in Pineland. All about the Caloosa Indians complete with Indian Mounds, educational walking trails and classrooms. There are water taxis to Cabbage Key and other islands for a fun day out. Kayaking is very popular. Also lots of shopping opportunities for gifts and books by local writers. I hope you will give all of us another chance. Thanks for stopping by.

Promised land is a real Mango farm. The preserves and honey are hand made by the owners. They are happy to share their stories and experience. Growing Mangos is much more complex that it might appear. Their "store" is out of the way but easy to find. Pay attention to their hours of operation on the website as they are only open three days a week. Combine this with a visit to the historic Indian Mounds site across the street from Tarpon Lodge.
