About
Established in 2015, Barrel of Monks was the first production brewery in Boca Raton, with a focus on traditional Belgian-inspired ales. Founded by three friends who were passionate about beer, they spent years perfecting their recipes, and now operate a 20bbl brewhouse to manufacture and distribute their beers. While they continue to maintain a strong focus on Belgian-style beer, they have also expanded their offerings to include other styles. Despite the expansion, the brewery's commitment to quality and consistency remains a top priority, ensuring that every beer they produce is of the highest standard. 10,000 sq. foot brewery specializing in Belgian Ales. Extraordinary cool tasting room.

We were 3 couples gathering for the first time to meet and enjoy a delicious casual dinner on this Friday night. We all felt that this was the perfect venue for such an occasion. We started at 6 pm and honestly didn’t leave until 9:30 because we had such a nice time with no one rushing us to take our seats. To start, it was very hot outside so we checked out the inside which was very cool but noisy, dark and not enough seating to be comfortable. There were several young children in there as well. So we decided to sit outside. There were plenty of picnic tables available to choose from. This worked for us because as the sun went down, it definitely cooled off. The venue is located in a quiet industrial area off the beaten track with plenty of parking. So first we went in to check the beers offered. I’m not a beer drinker so the bartender offered me some samples until I found my Single in Havana choice. You also have a choice of size.
They also offer wine if beer isn’t your thing. We took the beers out to our table and then walked up to the food truck which is always stationed there called Jeffrey Eats which was fabulous. The menu consisted of various hamburgers- very unique- and a burger of the month. Also there were sandwiches, tacos, fries. I had the burger of the month. It was a WOW. The fries were fabulous also. They brought the orders to the table once they were prepared . Everything is fresh and prepared separately. It was very sloppy eating which was part of the fun - plenty of napkins were provided. I know the brewery offers tours. This was a first for me and I can’t wait to go back and try other beers and entrees in the future. Great place to relax and unwind after a long day for sure

Barrel of Monks is a 10,000 square foot brewery that was established in 2015 in Boca by three friends with a passion for beer. You can find it in the Penn-Florida Commerce Center. They were the first production brewery in the city and they focus on traditional Belgian-inspired ales.
My girlfriend and I met up to grab dinner from a Cheffrey Eats, a food truck in their parking lot that was featured on Guy Fieri Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. After placing our order we decided to beat the heat inside the air conditioned tap room but they also have a large outside patio with tables with umbrellas. I was surprised by elegant the tap room looked with exposed brick, rich wood, and shimmering chandeliers.
While waiting for our food I decided to grab a beer. Their menu features beers that have chocolate, coffee, and fruit as added for flavor. I'm not much of a beer drinker so I chose the guava infused Single in Havana which started off as seasonal fruit beer but it became so popular that they started offering it year round. It is a light blonde ale at 4.5 percent. You get the flavor and aroma of guava but it is not overly sweet. It was the perfect pairing to the rich juicy burger created by Cheffrey Eats and even a non beer novice like me loved it. You can pick up six packs of your favorites from their cooler. Their beers range from stouts to pale and they offer flights as well. While enjoying my food and drink I noticed several families with young children so it is family friendly as well as dog friendly on the outside patio. The combination of Cheffrey Eats and Barrel of Monks is a match made in heaven!

Finally made it to try...Did not disappoint! All covid protocols in place inside & outside. Conveniently, Cheffrey Eats (a gourmet food truck) is located outside Barrel of Monks Brewing tasting room. Genius partnership. Inside at the bar, we ordered brews (many varieties on tap), grabbed a table (inside or outside available) and they delivered Witty in Pink (Raspberry Ale) & Single in the Sun (Belgian style blonde ale). I’m not a connoisseur of beer, but Brian & Zach were very helpful as these were light, tasty & refreshing. We even bought some bottled to take home. They offer tastes & flights. Very reasonable for craft made beer. Thank you for the Idyllic Saturday afternoon with unique brews & comfort food.

Excellent beers of the Belgian variety with many types to sample. The outside food truck, Cheffrey's Eats is absolutely fantastic. The combo make this a great, if unexpected place to meet friends, relax and have a fun time while quenching your thirst and satisfying your belly. Don't miss the Burrata burger, the very best I've ever had!

My wife and I came here in the early evening, after we had dinner elsewhere. We sampled several brews here. We're fond of Belgium beers and ales. We particularly liked the fruit ales and the stronger stout that we sampled here. Friendly service. Covid safeguards in place.

Very good Belgium wheat beers, large selection of in-house brews, and
helpful, friendly staff. Good 'cozy' place to have a few in Boca Raton, FL.
Oh....and don't forget, go on line and find out when they have the brewery
tours. Very interesting!

On a trip over to Fort Lauderdale, we drove the 45 minutes out of the way to Boca to visit Barrel of Monks. I walk in with excitement carrying my (4) Fort Myers Brewing growlers. "We won't fill those" - yells the guy with a strong accent (and a questionable Napoleon complex) at me from across the bar. The look of misunderstanding must have took him off guard. "We only fill our own growlers so we can ensure the quality of our beer". Even the people at the bar turned around in dismay. We'd been there once a year ago and really enjoyed it. I was amazed that I was met with rudeness. My growlers look exactly the same as theirs only with a different logo. I'm sure their growlers are made at the same place everyone's are. Their beers are very good, especially if you like Belgians like I do. It's a shame, they really turned me off. With the explosion of craft beer in Florida, the brewers that are too full of themselves won't last. LauderAle, 26Ëš and Bangin' Banjo all have great beers and are much friendlier. They get 2 starts instead of 1 because their beers are excellent. I won't be back
