My husband and I found this park pretty typical for a Florida park with some beach access. The reason for the two star review however is the $25.00 price to park in the park itself. You can park on the street at a meter but of course that takes much more walking. Since I have a bad back and walking can become painful we really had no choice but to pay the $25.00 as we were there for a specific purpose. We live in Florida and have traveled to numerous parks within Florida and in other States as well as this is the MOST BY FAR we have ever had to pay! There were no special attractions, there was no historical significance...truly just a typical Florida park with beach access. This is a City Park so the shame here goes to the City of Boca Raton. Shame on you Boca Raton this charge is crazy high and it is quite honestly discriminatory against the DISABLED, seniors as well as lower and middle income individuals. We couldn't even buy an annual pass because were not residence of the City. We would liked to have returned the next day but we were unwilling to pay another $25.00. By the way there was no one else in the park while we were there. We were there on a weekday so I wouldn't expect it to be busy but some Moms or Dads with their preschool kids should have been there. A few senior citizens should have been present but nope. There was nobody except people working there on a construction project and grounds keepers. That was it! Again shame on the City of Boca Raton for this discriminatory fee!!!

I would say spanish river park is a great place to go if you want a nice calm beach day. Since you have to pay for parking there is no need for worry when trying to find a spot. The walk from the park to the beach itself is very short and should only take a few minutes. Though it costs 20 dollars when you can just go to the beach for free , there is a lot of seaweed and jellyfish. I don't feel like spanish river park was worth it. There are closer beaches for free with less seaweed and closer parking.

If you own a pickup truck don't go. They tried to charge me $65 to park . They said my Ram 1500 was a class 2 vehicle. Boca Raton is a up tight beach town. Go to Deerfield or Delray and enjoy the same beaches with better restaurants.

The park is clean and has outdoor shower. But there is too much seaweed on the beach, making it impossible to swim . And we didn't see any birds at the observation. Maybe it's the time of the day? We were there late morning. We paid the $25 parking, and spent about an hour there. Definitely not worth it.

A lovely spot away from the hustle and bustle, you can easily forget you are minutes away from town and condo villages. Short nature trail, lots of picnic tables, Sm boat/kayak ramp. Short walk across A1A to beach access.

94 degrees and no better place to go and cool off. The beach and park grounds are all immaculately clean. Water was 77 and clear. You can wade a long way out before it gets too deep. Parking is limited both inside and out.

If you must visit Boca Raton and park at the solar-powered meter, be sure it prints out a receipt and KEEP that paper. The meter at Spanish River Blvd and Ocean Blvd did not print anything but there were no signs saying that a printed receipt was required. A few seconds after paying at the meter, I received an email notification from my credit card company that my card had been charged for the parking fee. So I made the logical conclusion that I had paid the parking.
When we returned from the beach, there was a $35 parking ticket. I followed all the processes to appeal this, including hours on the phone and many emails back and forth. There was an 'administrative review' which took two months. I sent copies of the email from my credit card company but Boca Raton (surprise!) refused to vacate the ticket. Now I have two choices - pay the $35 ticket or fork out $25 for an appeal hearing before a special magistrate - in person!! Basically this is a racket. Avoid Boca Raton. There are better beaches elsewhere.

Every year for the last decade our family's foundation holds an event in Spanish River Park for South Floridians living with disabilities. And each year that I return to this, the most perfect park imaginable, I fall in love with this most scenic, rambling, family friendly, lush place beneath the sun all over again. Everywhere you turn in Spanish River Park you will discover vistas and attractions that will delight all your senses, from the permanent grilling and picnic areas, to the accessible playground, to the prettiest stretch of beach imaginable. Then there's a small marina surrounded by picnic tables, jungle trails, jogging paths, waving palms, vast stretches of green grassy fields and so much more. Plus it is spotless, has lifeguards, security and clean rest rooms and changing facilities. Take the family or go by yourself. You'll be able to find an acre of beach all to yourself where you can read, snooze and rejuvenate your spirits.

Spanish River Park is a great place to enjoy much more than just the beach, Situated between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, both are an easy walk away. The park has picnic facilities and restrooms, and several nature trails.
A cool feature at the park is the tunnel (under A1A) that leads to the Beach.
While pedestrians and bicyclists can enter the park for FREE, not so for cars. There is a charge of $16 per car on week days, and $18 on weekends. The cost appears to keep crowds down, which is nice.

Hello,
What is the price for chair and shade rental? I will be visiting from Canada in Deerfield Beach can I purchase a one day dog permit on the weekend? Do you have to show proof of vaccinations? Would a photo of the vaccinations paper be sufficient? I do not want the really copy getting wet or damage.
Thank you,
Janie

You should direct your questions to the City of Boca Raton Parks Department, as they run the park. There are no concessions there, so bring your own shade and chair. You need a permit to bring your dog, and you get that through the City of Boca Raton. There are also only certain days and hours that dogs are allowed. It's a beautiful park, so relax and enjoy.

What is cheaper for the daily parking rate. We have mini van with 5 people. A veteran & handicap plaque. I’m assuming you can only use one of the discounts?
Thank you

Call this number for the answer. I know the regular day rate is like $19.00 a day if you don't have the beach pass. I know they have handicapped parking and wheel chairs can get up to the beach easily through their tunnel.

I see a small camping spot on intercoastal whenever I'm on my boat.. trying to figure out what this is and how to camp there? I am local. Thanks!
Written July 19, 2017
I'm not sure exactly what you are seeing, so I may not be answering your question. But this is from the Boca Raton government website about Spanish River Park: Tent & Trailer Camping - No individual family tent or trailer camping will be allowed. Spanish River Park is considered principally a day-use area.
