Charming find, not far from Mizner. Displays, video, all about how Boca came to be. Lovely antique furniture.

Located in the original City of Boca Raton Town Hall on Federal Highway about a block north of Palmetto Park Road, this is a good place to visit, especially if you’re not familiar with anything about Boca Raton. There are some interesting displays and old furniture and “art” pieces which relate to the Addison Mizner influence on the design and architecture of the area. The Society has a full time archivist, a wealth of information, but she is not always available to speak with. They sponsor talks and lectures, presented on-site in a crowded room which desperately needs a new audio system (supposedly in the works?), and removal of the moldy odor, and also operate wonderful (limited) tours of the historic aspects of the Boca Raton Resort and Club. A visit to the gift shop is worth your time.

Enjoyed the visit here. Docents are very helpful and informative. There are exhibits about the development of Boca Raton area and a good video that spells that out. Several rooms of this former City Hall are dedicated to artifacts. If you are unaware of the colorful history of the region, this is a good place to start.

Museum is in the old city hall and the historical vignettes do a great job of communicating the evolution of Boca Raton. It was fun afterwards retracing the old air station boundaries described in the museum, and finding some old antiaircraft guns by a school. A short drive from the museum is also the old train station (building itself is closed for 2019) which has some old train cars.
