I remember going here as a child year after year to snorkel and swim. Coming back 10 years later did not disappoint. If you get a calm day (Summer and Early Fall) then you are in for a treat with tons of fish by the reef. Be aware of the sea weed that comes on shore and in shallow water. The sand is soft (not white and can get very hot).
Notes about parking: If you are not a Boca Resident, it is going to be $25 for the day. It's pretty steep. If you are going for 4 hours or less, park across the street at the public golf course for $3 / hour (max 4 hours). That will save you some cash.

If you are in the Boca Raton area and have a day to relax, I highly recommend going to Red Reef Park and having a beach day. It is kind of like its own little bubble being it is situated only a 60-75 min north of the Miami hustle and bustle. The beach is very clean and the beach workers you could tell really care about the environment. For people who enjoy snorkeling, this place is probably the best in the Palm Beach, Broward area, and probably Boca's best beach. For my walkers, there are beautiful trails on the intercoastal which is directly across the street. All in Red Reef Park with turquoise blue waters is the place to be.

I am a northerner renting in Boca for a month. At the end of the first week, I went to this beach primarily to watch the waves-so soothing! I, too, was taken back by the $25 fee for parking right at Red Reef for just 1-2 hours.
However, the entry guard suggested I go to the golf course lot right across the road. The parking fee is only $3/hour, and there are usually plenty of spots, at least in the morning. Each spot is numbered. Remember it and go to the kiosk. Enter your number when requested and follow the directions closely. It's a slow process. No need to put the receipt on your dashboard.
Be careful crossing the road; however, there is a pedestrian crossing warning sign for vehicles. Most stop but not all!
A clean public bathroom is before the boardwalk ramp. The doors are usually left open.
I have been back to Red Reef several times.

We decided on this beach as we thought it would be good for a beginner snorkeler who was in our party. All information we saw when researching this beach indicated a $20 entrance fee. Well, when we got there we were charged $25, just went up apparently.
The parking, bathrooms, covered picnic area etc were all very nice. At any new beach we go to, we talk to staff or lifeguards about any conditions we should be aware of. We are young seniors. We like to swim, snorkel, ride waves, and we like to do these things in an informed and safe way. So we asked the young female lifeguard a question relating to beach conditions, and received a very brief, not very complete answer. When we followed up with another question, she actually rolled her eyes and sighed while giving us another almost answer.
We went to many beaches in this area on our vacation, mostly in Jupiter. Aside from none of them having admission fees, and facilities that very much matched this beach, we found all other lifeguards very welcoming and informative in their dealings with us. In fact, one advised us of an incoming shower so that we could prepare for it.
It is the the best interest of all that a life guard be prepared to deal with the public in a professional way. Being proactive about safety is part of the job. Being friendly means you were raised right. This employee does not promote a positive impression of this town. BTW, the 2 staff members at the entrance were friendly and funny!

We visited on a Sunday not long after Hurricane Isaias went north just off shore. Based on other suggestions here, we parked in the lot on the other side of Highway A1A rather than pay the relatively outrageous price for a days admission to the park.
We saw lots of different kinds of fish, but due to the number of people and the amount of silt that had been stirred up in the water, we could only see what was very close.
We'll probably do another visit here on a weekday to see if the visibility and crowding is better.

The water is very pretty. Clear on sunny days. Found some little shells I wasn’t expecting to find on the east coast. The sand here was clean and lots of beach. Unfortunately, there is seaweed that lines the shore as far as one can see. At least it wasn’t in the water. Parking is $35/day inside the park, but there is a metered parking lot across the street. Get there early to get a spot. Bathrooms and showers but no food.

Beautiful beach. Thursday morning to midway did not seem crowded at all. Parking at the pavilion is one one max but boasts the best views. The state park locations are expensive but after reading several other reviews it’s best to park across the street the golf course and just walk across.

I don’t have much to add to other reviews, but a few logistic tips: park in the meter parking by the golf course, way cheaper than the official parking lot at $18 a vehicle. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a pretty shaded, large, picnic area away from the heat of the beach. Watch for purple flags...we discovered they mean marine life issues...the day we were there it meant there was an abundance of Man o War Washing up, a poisonous polyp that hurts to even touch it wheTher alive or dead or broken off part of it. So people weren’t going in the water due to that. There is a chair and umbrella rental setup, pricey at $15 an hour but at least an option.

The day we went it was a little cloudy and windy. The beach was awesome. Very clean. I parked across the street which cost a little less than parking directly in the Reef parking lot if you do not plan to stay long nor use the grill. I was not there long as I stopped after visiting the turtles. But, I would definitely go back there.

This beach so calm. If you looking for a place to relax The Red Reef Park is the way to go. Depending on the time, some of the toddlers and young children are out. However, after 4 'o' clock the boisterousness of the families calm down. Most people walk along the shore, but my family and I just relaxed and made videos for the gram. There are also a couple ice cream shops to go to after you're done with the beach. Somethings to look out for is the water and the ocean's texture (if you want to swim). Also when going to stand in the shallow parts of the ocean don't be alarmed if the sand is course it gets smoother as you go!

The best Place to park is across the street from Red Reef.
All day parking at red reef is around $17. But you can park across the street and pay hourly if you don't plan to stay all day it's much cheaper
