Captain Jim was great! He is very experienced and was extremely confident with his abilities in the Gulf and Atlantic. He kept us updated on the weather a week in advance and stayed in touch up until the day we met. We told him what our mission was and he delivered. We had caught our limit within 4 hrs and he only charged us for 1/2 day. It was a spectacular day and we would high recommend this fishing excursion with Capt. Jim!

We booked four days of fishing with Captain Jim based on separate recommendations from two personal fishing friends, and now I am passing on the recommendation: if you want to CATCH fish, call Jim. If you just want to drag line through the water, call some other charter. We had more #1 hook-ups than we thought possible. We hooked a goliath Goliath Grouper, Spinner sharks that leapt high out of the water doing flips, Black Fin sharks that took over a half hour each to land, lethally long Barracudas that would leap 40+ feet across the water surface when hooked, pounds of Pompano, many Mackerel, the biggest Lane Snapper the Captain and us have ever seen, Yellowfin Snappers, Speckled Trout, Houndfish, Hogfish, and so many other fish we lost count. Captain Jim knew where to fish and patiently provide pointers to hone our fishing skills. We took two coolers full of filets back to our Maryland homes, to show our family and friends our smiles and that we really were fishing all week. So, I recommend some Reel Therapy and not be the Old Maid - Go FISH!!

Our original vacation plans were canceled due to the Corona Virus so we emailed Captain Jim last minute to try to schedule a back country fishing trip. He was already booked, but hooked us up with his partner, Captain Brent. The day could not have gone better. The boat was clean, fast, and well stocked with everything we needed. Captain Brent took us to a half dozen or so great fishing spots where we caught over 10 different species including several large sharks and a huge barracuda. He was extremely knowledgeable about the waters and fish species we were after. He was patient with me even though I have very little fishing experience. It was obvious that he does it because he loves it, not because it’s a job. We will definitely be back and will plan our trip around when these guys are available.

Good afternoon after I was taking out on real therapy charters in Big pine key
I needed therapy. AFTER................👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Captain Jim was very unconsiderate with his driving he threw your body every which way boat only had moving coolers to sit on with bars beating you to death in the back his manners we're not good at all my daughter had to go to the bathroom he handed her a 5 gallon bucket to do whatever she needed to do in front of everybody she could not go to the bathroom like that, what was the thousand dollars for I was so embarrassed
The only person that had a pole in the water was him Jim The captain thought to myself wow we paid $1000 for him to go fishing after six hours I was ready to go back to a reef where I thought we would catch some fish where the trip wasn't a total loss
Low and behold he was angry that we asked him to move us to a reef were maybe we could catch a few fish and not go home empty-handed His wife was trying to do all she could do to help after riding around for six hours and sitting in the sun for two I
I didn't feel so well after knowing I left Tennessee for a beautiful trip and gave this a hole a thousand dollars so(( he )) could go fishing
there was no water offered he took my things after getting on the boat and put them Lord knows where my kids get hungry I asked for the things that I brought he could not find them.
After sitting at the reef another hour and a half with no avail fish were not being caught other boats were pulling up fish. he did not have his fishfinder on he was very rude.
I mentioned I did not feel good it was too hot at this time I needed to go back in...........
After a full day of getting beat up with coolers and other objects anchors I've had enough I was hot not feeling good and my children were upset one had to P the other one felt he didn't want to be on the boat because the captain was calling him bad luck like throwing his fish back in the water not even letting him take pictures with it the one fiish he caught the captain threw it back in the water
Without letting him take a picture at least he could've got a picture after getting back to the dock I was so beat up I could not move this gentleman does not have a proper equipment to get in the boat or out of the boat so if you're not in perfect health and can't move around like a 15-year-old can do not get on this boat do not get on this boat if you want to have a good time and get fish
This guy would not even give me my medication back after asking for it or my suntan lotions and who knows what else I had in the bag
This trip was horrific I thought to myself wow $1000
My medicine could've ment my life who knows what this guy thinks it was he was acting awfully weird maybe he took my medicine😳😳😳😳
very disappointed Family would never use this person again never

Spent the week with three friends fishing with Captain Jim on Reel Therapy Charters. As a seasoned and regular fishing enthusiast, who regularly charters fishing trips, I can honestly say Captain Jim is the hardest working and most productive captain I’ve ever fished with. We fished with him 4 out of 5 days and every day was different. Regardless of the weather conditions or challenges, Capt’n Jim modified the plan and or location to keep us catching fish. Days when high winds prevented us from fishing the Atlantic, he took us to the back bays and to his “special” places. Caught and released a Goliath Grouper, several black tip sharks, several barracudas, lots of keeper snappers, pompanos, speckled trout, and mackerels.

Went fishing with Capt. Jim in May. Went off shore for Mahi and caught a bunch of good size Mahi on a nice, but windy day. Not the best conditions, not the worst, but we did pretty good anyway. Good day of fishing with my girlfriend.

Next day we went out to the backcountry fishing on the flats boat for anything we could find, and we found a lot. Jack Crevalle, trout, small sharks, big sharks, snappers. You name it . We tried for tarpon, but the wind and clouds made it tough. But Cap'n Jim came through and put me onto non stop barracuda in one spot that was a fish almost every cast. I loved it!!!

The last day was special. We went offshore to a wreck for permit. Cap'n Jim's First Mate Gina came along and what a show! Nets, gaffs, bait, rods and camera's flying around like a well oiled machine. Great Time! 5 permit hooked up, some cobra, sharks and 1 goliath grouper we couldn't budge. Bull sharks (Big Ones) ate well that day too!

Overall, Cap'n Jim is knowledgeable, personable and fun to fish with. And his First Gina can do it all on the boat, not just a pretty face. We had a lot of fun, caught a lot of fish and can't wait to go back to spend more time on Big Pine Key and fishing
with Reel Therapy Charters!!!

Captain Jim took me and another dad along with four boys (ages 12-14) out for an amazing day of fishing. He took us out for a wide variety of fish and even put us on Goliath grouper and sharks. We had an amazing time. Capt Jim absolutely knows these waters and will put you on the fish regardless of what you want to catch. He also was great with the kids - very patient and taught them about everything he was doing. I have fished with a lot of guides and can attest he is one of the best I have fished with. Highly recommend.

Captain Jim exceeded any expectation we had!!! Wow! The day gave me "reel therapy" and felt like I called up my favorite uncle to take my family out to catch some fish. Boat was clean and beautiful, very accommodating for family of four with kids. He knew all the great spots and not 2 minutes went by without one of us catching a fish. Got to show the kids Goliath Grouper and hooked a shark. Bringing home great Mackerel which he cleaned for us. What I loved most was his patience and desire for fishing and to teach us different techniques for hooking different fish 🐟 Thank you Captain Jim... see you soon!

This trip was a bucket list trip for our nephew who heads to college in the spring and Capt. Jim made it a wonderful memory for us! We talked before had and made sure he knew what kind of fishing we wanted to do so he tailored the day to our wants. When we came aboard, he was already stocked with various types of live bait so we were prepared for everything. And we caught... everything! Jacks, Snapper, Spanish Mackeral, Spotted Sea Trout, and even a Spinner Shark and 3 Goliath Grouper! We kept only what we planned to eat and when we got back Capt cleaned and fileted it for us to take home for dinner. We've chartered many boats throughout the Keys and Capt Jim is definitely one of the best. A Capt can make or break a day on the water and he gave us a spectacular day. We were on the fish all day while chatting and laughing. We already can't wait to go out with him again. Thank you again Capt. Jim for a very memorable and fun day!

We booked a 3/4 day trip with Captain Jim and had a great time! He was professional, yet personable, and knew his stuff! He taught us many tips and tricks along the way during our charter. We are familiar with lake fishing in MO, but not nearly as familiar with offshore fishing. He brought us right up to speed so we could have a successful day on the ocean! My husband and I wanted to do a fishing charter during our honeymoon, and Jim got us booked and on the water just before we had to leave town. Thanks Jim!
