All the sand on the Atlantic side has been washed away but Calusa Beach is still intact and we really enjoyed this beach, very safe especially if you have little children.

The beach was the only part of Bahia Honda that was open. It was in good shape and didn't experience any damage. The rest of the park was fenced off. They had portable restrooms on site. Went snorkling and saw hog fish, snapper, barracuda and...More

Very small beach and swimming area with all of the Atlantic side fenced off. Not worth the admission fee.

It is a wonderful beach. Ideal for families with children, since the water is shallow for a long time. They have restored the restrooms and showers and the lockers are almost complete. The Nature Center is open. HOWEVER, it costs $9 to get there. The...More

Although much damage was received by Hurricane Irma this is still a beautiful spot if you have a respect for nature. It is a smaller beach so it can get crowded during the winter and on holiday weekends. Nice temporary restrooms are available for your...More

Lot's of people go to Bahia Honda and think this is the only beach available. While Calusa is very scenic, it is also very small and most times crowded. Plan to explore the park and check out Sandspur beach as well.
