Allow yourself a few hours for this one. We did not get an audio tour with this home, but it was still very beautiful and well done. Leave ample time to explore the grounds and to see where the nice cars are kept.

Ostentatious French-style mansion, with incredible chandeliers, furnishings, cars, bowling alley, bedrooms, wall murals--all really over the top. It's an interesting glimpse into the lifestyles of the rich and famous from the early 20th century. The gardens were not well maintained--lots of weeds and bare spots....More

Nemours is not as well known as the other DuPont museums, perhaps because it is fairly new to being open to the public. I liked it very much. The house is lovely and eclectic; you can imagine people living here (unlike Winterthur, which was always...More

This DuPont mansion is situated on a hill overlooking the lawn and gardens. It is always interesting to tour old mansions and this did not disappoint. A section of the lawn with the fountains was roped off due to ongoing repairs so we were unable...More

I was looking for something to do while in the Wilmington area and this place came highly recommended. I only wish I'd had more time to spend there. To get to the mansion, you must take a shuttle, so you're a little at the mercy...More

Another grand DuPont home. Everyone was very welcoming. Like all of Delaware’s historical properties the docents are very knowledgeable, friendly and nice. This is a grand home but it feels like a home not a museum. The gardens are spacious and well maintained. The garage...More

The tours of the house at Nemours was informative and fascinating. The house contains many amenities (such as a back up generator) that were new innovations in the early 20th century. The grounds are amazing as well with a French inspired formal garden. It is...More

Most people know about Winterthur, the other Dupont family home. We actually became aware of this other Dupont property from TripAdvisor. Decided to make a stop here on our car trip. What a discovery. From the visitor center, one can either take the van to...More

I don't know for sure but there is no food there. As I recall they do have tickets so I would imagine that they would allow you to go out and return. Best to confirm with them to be sure. Jo-Ann
