Had a half day visit at the estate. Reservation had to be made in advance on the phone, entrance fee was half off. Digital map was provided, only other 4 people were on the entire property at the same time. Walking around was not just very safe but also very special, as we had the feeling to have the entire estate for ourselves. Bathrooms were very clean, hand sanitizer available. We very mich enjoyed the visit!

2020 has had us looking for lots of new outdoor activities. You need to call and pay ahead of time for entry, but they have reduced the tickets to half-price since you are only visiting the gardens. If you want to see a ton of flowers, visit Longwood Gardens down the street. This is beautiful, but it is walking grounds with beautiful hardscaping, water features, ponds and beautiful trees. The grounds are really nice. The walking paths are nice and you can bring blankets and a picnic. We saw a few people doing that. There are bathrooms available on the grounds, not just port-a-potties, but real, clean bathrooms. (nicely done!) We can't wait to go back in the fall when the leaves are changing.

My husband and I enjoyed our tour of Nemours. It almost felt like we were in Europe again, except when you went inside the house, you could definitely see the American influences in the French design.

The mansion was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The rooms are so beautiful they would still be something to see without the decorations. On the shuttle to the mansion from the visitors center, you can see how manicured the gardens must be in season and can't wait to go back in the Spring. What I thought was nice is that they have seats around if someone needs to sit while touring the house. You don't really see that in historic homes.
