I was actually involved in the design and construction of this playground as a Rotarian. I know that we cut no corners with either when we had it built. It is a wonderful and safe inclusive playground designed for children with all abilities. Children with all abilities can play together side by side, and there is no cost to use it. I highly recommend the Can Do Playground.

I brought my 2 and a half year old to this park a few weeks ago for the second time. It is a state park, so you do have to pay (we pay more because we are not DE residents, $8 vs $4). You pick up an envelope, fill it out, place the money in and drop it in the box after putting slip on your dash. It is not visible from the road and there is no signage so the first time we did drive around for about 20 minutes! I had to ask someone walking by in the parking lot. You will see picnic tables and a pavilion in the distance. It is quite a walk from the parking lot. I don't know who designs these things!! Probably people without small children! Anyways, follow the path and you'll find it past the forest on your right. Actually, it's sort of within a small forested area. The nice thing is that there is some shading, but also they have shaded areas on the play equipment as well. There could be some more seating with shade. But the play equipment is very nice and seems to be maintained so that most of the features are working. There is a sand area that is nice. It has two tables that look like they are supposed to be funnels but are always clogged and not functional. There are also diggers, but they are very hard for an adult, let alone a child to work. Some have seats and others are meant for standing. It's a shame because I have been to a park that had some really nicely built ones that my child was able to use. Overall, I like the park because of the play structures are endless. The set for the older kids is a bit odd in that it has an animal sound feature which is meant more for young toddlers. In any case, there are a few picnic tables but they are not kept up nicely (under the trees). The bathroom is just across from the park and is clean. The pavilion that you pass to get to the park has additional picnic tables. We will come back. I believe it is in the process of having an additional section added as well. Bring a few sand toys!

A little hard to find...we came from northbound 202, onto weldin rd and it is immediately on your right, kind of hard to see from the road, if you get to a roundabout you've gone too far. Lots of things to climb on, slide down, run, and touch. Mostly sunny with some shaded areas near benches and a couple of places on the playground. Mostly fenced in, just doesn't have a gate at the front but otherwise fenced in and is very far from road traffic. Bathrooms (male/female/family) located just across from the playground next to a picnic pavilion. Vending machines available. Also plenty of room for bikes and scooters.

We had been looking forward to a new playground. What a disappointment . Since it's in a state park, there's an entrance fee. Every child there was just wandering vaguely, because there's no playground element that really interacts. It was just a padded room with weather.

By far the coolest playground in town, the Can-Do playground boasts tons of fun and safe activities for kids right in the center of Brandywine Hundred.

Great playground for younger children and completely and easily wheelchair accessible ... great place to entertain wheelchair/scooter bound grandparents who will enjoy being up close and personal with the young grandchildren as they play. Downside is the "state park" designation that requires admission/parking fees. I think it may only be a few dollars, but still..... there used to be a few free parking spots - not sure if they are still there.

Nice playground tucked into the Alapocas Run State Park grounds near the Blue Ball Barn. You can park and walk in to the playground. Fee for parking (honor system) or free with an annual park pass. Well worth it. Very nice grounds and ever-expanding amenities e.g., vending, bathrooms, picnic grounds and play fields nearby. Links to the trails in the park and Alapocas Woods Run.

this is fabulous for toddlers and younger age children: it is especially good for the disabled, and the rotary group started this park: it is fabulous with places to sit and to eat:
