Fun former movie theatre! 5 for $5 tastings let's you try scrapple in their Off the Hood scrapple flavored vodka. The hit toddy was fab.

Fun tour followed by taste testing.

My wife and I went on Sunday afternoon. I was surprised that I learned as much as I did and I came away with an appreciation of the work of a distiller. Fun trip in center of downtown Smyrna.

Great tours
Nov 2018 • Couples
My sister and BIL bought us tickets and we took the tour of the distillery and a taste test of their vodka and whiskey. Very interesting.
Purchased their vodka, it was pretty good.
It would be nice if they added a menu, even a small menu
The bartender was awesome and knew his craft well.
Nice to know that you can still learn something new everyday

Thanks for paying us a visit and glad you enjoyed the tour and felt like you learned a bit. We hope someday to be able to add a limited food menu to our offerings and are working on all the legal and financial challenges of doing that. Thanks!

Great regional distillery

This was such a great surprise. Smyrna Delaware is going through a renaissance and this is a wonderful example of how to do it. The location is a reclaimed 1940s theater, with most equipment still in it. The craftsmen, distillers are true to the craft and are very informative about their processes and vision. The cocktail menu is very well though out and professionally prepared. And the tour/tasting will open all tasters eyes to the nuances of their creations. This is a must stop for me.

First visit - not our last!

Stopped in for the first time with our son who lives in Smyrna near the distillery and had a cocktail. What a great experience! Had the most friendly and engaging bartender who chatted comfortably with us while we drank. Amazing cocktails - loved the Lemon Drop and the Bloody Mary! Highly recommend and plan to return ourselves the next time we’re down from Buffalo to visit!

Walk down from Maverick’s Texas barbecue
Jul 2018 • Friends
After dinner at Mavericks Texas barbecue we walked down to visit painted Steve distillery. My brother-in-law had a gin and tonic with craft made gin and craft made tonic said it was excellent. I enjoyed the artwork and collection of unique craft spirits and was particularly intrigued by the scrapple flavored vodka. I own a restaurant in Florida next to Saint Augustine distillery which is very successful and was happy to see a craft distillery in downtown Smyrna. Ron the proprietor is a great guy and was in the midst of a tour so we will have to return another time for the full tour.

We have went on a tour and tasting a while back and had a great time, interesting equipment and process. When I saw an event pop up for donut and cocktail pairing, I thought "hmmm, this sounds amazing" and that it would be a great experience as well. I have mixed thoughts after attending the event. The event description stated four donuts and four cocktails, however, you did not receive cocktails. They served the "cocktails" in a cup a bit bigger than a shot glass. To me, a cocktail is served in glass in which it was created to be served in. This was disappointing since I wanted to enjoy their crafted cocktails. In the long run, we went on a donut tasting. Who is able to eat four full sized donuts... I was going for the four cocktails. Had I known that it was tastings and not cocktails, we wouldn't have taken the hour drive. We had higher expectation since the distillery held the event, and the price paid for the tickets. However, on another note, they do have great whisky. With that being said, you're better off going in for a tasting and trying out their different products, and checking out the art work that's displayed.

Thanks for your feedback and sorry to hear that the pairing was not what you expected. We try our best to set the prices at a reasonable level for what we can legally serve people in an hour, and 4 full size cocktails would exceed that limit plus push the cost of the event up closer to $40 per ticket. Glad to hear you enjoyed the whiskey!

Really Impressive Tour and Tasting at a Small Distillery
Mar 2018 • Couples
This distillery tour located downtown in the small, cute town of Smyrna, DE really surprised me. First off, the price of the tour was an incredible value - $12. For that price you get a good cocktail and a tour of the distillery by one of the owners who really knew his stuff and gave a great tour and description of the process. Of course, this is a small, one-room operation, but it has a lot of character. We assumed the tour would be over at that point, but instead there was also a tasting of five spirits provided by the second owner, who taught the group how to taste liquor and really demonstrated how passionate he was about it. We got the opportunity to taste almost everything they made at the distillery, which was incredible.

In addition, the front room of the distillery serves as an art gallery for local artists. This would be our introduction for our short trip into Delaware, where we were wowed by the quality art from Delaware artists and the reasonable prices. We ended up leaving with a bottle of bourbon and a painting. We combined the distillery tour with stops at two local breweries and it was a really unique day.
