Had fun doing a walking tour of the island with a tour guide. Very friendly people. There were no other tourists on the island when we were there. Saw some beautiful fish snorkeling. All activities very inexpensive. Bring good shoes.

Not so far from Mamuju there was Karampuang island. It has a beautiful spot for snorkeling. The sea was very clean. After snorkeling, before sunset we went up to the island. Just walk 100 m from the jetty there was a nice spot to see sunset. There was some stalls which sell tea, bake corn and fried banana there.

I came here to do an assessment for my work. They have no resort at all and many people in the island still throw their garbage to the seawater. It's very sad to see because this place has many potentials to grow but there's still lack of development in this island.

However, you can still enjoy crystal clear seawater and just be careful when you snorkeling around because there are many sea orchids.

when your in mamuju, facing the karampuang island, u realy want to go there, but dont expect too much, have a light travel, enjoy the ride with the local fisherman boat that u need to booked, and have a look of a local village but no more than that.
have a dip or two in the nice sea, while the coral are now being protected, which is a good ways.
the local govt do already plan this area as the tourism gateway, but only ceremonial and builds at first and they keep it untiddy and unmanaged, so its such a lost.
the'res a few dive site manage by locals, do ask around you and have a quite good ones.

Nice place...
But unfortunately there is no Google's & snorkels rent..
You should bring your own gear if you plan to diving here..
But overall it was a good place for snorkling / diving
