Rehoboth Beach Delaware is one of the most fascinating beaches and beach towns in the U.S. Having visited multiple times over the years, I am never disappointed. This is a place that creates lasting memories… a lifetime of memories. My Wife and I had our first visit together here for our honeymoon, and over the last quarter century have returned, and returned and returned! First off, Rehoboth offers a vast flat sandy beach that gives you anything from walking the beach, lounging under umbrellas, swimming, light surfing and boating – maybe some fishing thrown in. It has the best and longest of boardwalks south of Atlantic City presenting everyone with the expected junk and fun eats anywhere. Cotton candy, fish tacos, snow cones, popcorn and amusements. There are Italian restos galore, but you can’t go without getting seafood with the myriads of styles of crab, shrimp, fish and you name it. Whether you’re into Bob Evans, Friendly’s or Cracker Barrel, or more sophisticated and tasty bites at Victoria’s or down-to-earth at Rehoboth Diner the options and varieties are huge! This intimate village-like small-town has done an exceptional job of keeping modernity at bay in the sense of its unique style yet with up-to-date conveniences. With a population of barely 1200 residents, it still does not eschew its origins from when the town was founded in 1873 with its nostalgic homes, excellent water quality, village vibe all has contributed to 5-Star ratings. But the beach itself is the main draw for us. The Mid-Atlantic offers very little of homey beaches, old fashioned and traditional conveniences, creature comforts and elegance. Rehoboth Beach, to us, is in the Top Ten beach destinations in the country. Enjoy and relax should be this town’s motto!

Delaware beaches have the most beautiful sand and Rehoboth does not disappoint. Unlike Jersey Beaches, there is no fee to use the public beaches, but it can crowded in a hurry, so if you want to be in the thick of things, be sure to arrive early or you will be parking quite a distance from the main town. There are plenty of other areas in town to access the Beach, so no worries if shopping and restaurants aren't your thing.

Very crowded beach, took one look at all the umbrellas and went back to the boardwalk to check a box. Had the fries which were very good. Walked the boardwalk, typical beach town. Tons of t'shirt places, candy, popcorn and food /restaurants. Getting there from 10-15 minutes out took over an hour the traffic is horrendous in the area and the parking as well. Be prepared you need to load a parking app everywhere. As someone said no cost to use beach but parking instead. We managed an hour there before we said," let's get out of this mess".

While I like Rehoboth, I must say that their parking situation is the pits. The hotel I stayed at gave me a parking pass, which was great, but in the 5 minutes it took for me to return the pass after I had checked out, I was given a ticket. I called the town and told I could fight it but if I lost I would have to pay court costs, so I just paid the ticket. This does not make me want to visit the town again. I think it is ill-advised to make parking in the town so onerous. I understand they have to do something because some people wouldn't move their cars otherwise, but the fact that there are no extenuating circumstances for a ticket is unfortunate. I think towns are short-sighted in going for the quick cash. The hotel owner told me that visits have been down the past few years. Perhaps the parking situation is a contributor to this?

Had a great experience swimming in the ocean and laying around in the sand relaxing! The beach is clean and is a great place for family swimming and making memories! The beach is surrounded by quaint shops, restaurants, games, and desserts! All around, a great American vacation!

Gross pit bulls are allowed on the boardwalk and the public beach. Watch out for dog poop on walkways meant for human beings to walk upon. We pay taxes but then have to beware of bad owners of mutant pit bulls in our public spaces. Get the gross dogs off our beaches and our boardwalk. People don't clean up after their pets or their mutants. It's a public safety issue. A mutant snapped and lunged at its owners leg right in front of us. Disgusting mutant with a bad owner, of course. Ban them.

Nice beach and boardwalk. Great restaurants. Parking is a hassle and way overpriced. No free parking even further away from the beach. While I liked the beach and atmosphere, I prefer other locations (Ocean City, MD; or even Virginia Beach) for easier and more reasonably priced parking and access.

PARKING SCAM ALERT!!!! The city should be ashamed of themselves. They have a sign in tiny letters that parking head in is enforced. If you back into a parking spot you will receive a $50 ticket. This makes zero sense. The side street I was on there was a delivery vehicle in the middle of the street and it was much easier for me to back in and of course easier to pull right out as I left. I’ve never in my life has to pull into a spot or I would receive a $50 fine. It is a way that the city can make more money. There were like 5-6 other cars with tickets on a little side street. Again, the city should be shamed scamming people !!! I hope I at least save somebody money be seeing this.

We visited the beach in one afternoon in late autumn and fell for it. It is quite long and there is plenty of things to do there. The boardwalk is lined with interesting shops and restaurants like British fish and chips, exotic tea leaves, halal kabob, lobster tails, etc. Reheboth Beach has definitely a character that would set it apart from nearby Ocean City. Parking is a hassle, be prepared to make several rounds before you can grab one. Other than Reheboth Avenue, there are lot of side streets that offer parking. All of that is free once past summer and early Fall. Approach from Washington beltway is not direct or easy, requires driving through narrow country roads and taking many turns. All in all, you'll enjoy Reheboth Beach once you get past getting there and parking issues.

The beach has a steep incline down to the water. You can't ride in the waves here. Bogie boards are good for riding waves in. It was very rough one day and you could only go out knee high. On calm days, you can go out farther. Where the waves are breaking there are rocks and shells that hurt your feet so you may want to wear water shoes. Beach is clean and you can rent chairs snd umbrellas. Go early as beach gets very crowded especially on weekends.

We visited here during the week after Labor Day. We went in the evening about 6PM, then during the day another day. Although we walked down to the water we did not spend the day on the beach. It was not busy at all. The boardwalk was clean, and we enjoyed our visit!

Went down to the beach in November for this first time all year due to the Pandemic. Was glad to find the beach nearly empty. We were able to comfortably stroll along the sand, listening to the waves break on the shoreline. We saw some birds, sandpipers and seagulls. It was not a warm day since it was in November, so we did not sunbathe or swim. During the summer months, we have found this beach to be overly crowded, so we don't usually go here to swim in the summer. (Plus there is no true bath house & parking is by metered spots that is a good walking distance from the ocean). However, in the shoulder seasons, it can be a nice place to take a stroll. During the summer we enjoy the view from the boardwalk of the beach and dolphins swimming in the water. Beach sand is pretty soft but there are some pebbles. Not really a good place to hunt seashells though as most get busted up by the pounding of the surf.

Overall, this is a nice beach for a stroll or sunbathing. I am not fond of it for swimming due to having to lug your beach supplies blocks to the boardwalk, paying the meters and the rough surf. The rip currents can be bad and there are jetties to watch for when you swim. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months. The one plus is that food stands are literally steps from the beach. Sunrise view is beautiful.

This is a gorgeous beach with a fabulous boardwalk.
Due to the pandemic, masks are required when exiting the beach. You do not have to wear them on the beach but they are recommended.
The beach is open from 6am-10pm. We went late on the evening and early in the mornings to avoid the crowds. It was perfect-with the exception of a few families we practically had the place to ourself.
Very clean and beautiful-we enjoyed it.
Our hotel was on the boardwalk and throughout the day we could see from our room how crowded it can get. There is a place to rent umbrellas and we see that to was very popular since there is a restriction on having tents and other types of coverings there.
Overall an amazing place.
You will enjoy it!

Wonderful beach trip - crowds are picking up, but still able to socially distance on the beach. Most of the Boardwalk shops and restaurants are open, but some have earlier closing times. Love the overall vibe of this beach town!

FAR too busy, and there's about 20 parking spots. We drove 3.5 hours from Washington D.C., circled for around 1 hour searching for parking, and drove right back home. It was unbelievable. Each "parking lot" next to the beach has ~20 spots, and thousands of cars competing for them. The really annoying part is there seems to be one of these small parking lots for every 1.5 miles of beach. The rest of the parking is in the residential neighborhoods, and you just have to find a spot where there isn't a "permit only" sign.
