I took my mom here for her 70th birthday for a little mommy/daughter time. It was just perfect. I booked a massage and Pedi and my mom Booked a facial and massage. We showed up early to unwind in the relaxation room. The room has complimentary tea, coffee and water. And the attendant offered us complimentary wine or champagne. I got a red wine and my mom got white. We sat and drank our drinks until we were called in for our services. I went for my massage first and my mom her facial. After we finished we met back up in the relaxation room where we both bragged about how great our services were. then I went for my pedicure and my mom for her massage. It was very relaxing to have a glass of wine while I got my pedi. I did not exactly love the french pedicure that they gave me but the entire facility was immaculately kept and had high end chairs and furniture. The decor was very nice and the shop out front was very cute, quaint, and beachy.

Hi Ashley,
We are very happy you & your mom had such a great time at our lovely spa. I am sorry that the French polish was not to your liking & hope we are able to provide a better finish next time you are in. Please let the front desk know when you reserve your next appointments & your french polish will be my treat. Thanks for the detailed review & we look forward to serving you again .

I made an appointment for 11:15 – a 60 min relaxation massage. After checking in a few min before my appointment I was sat down in the waiting area. Mind you the place is empty. No offering of tea, or water: I'm waiting almost 30 min till someone comes over and brings me to the treatment room. There is a unpleasant oder in the room. The room also isn't organized at all. Lots of products scattered all over the place, on the floor. Machines in the way of the table. The table
Itself is cold, and smells like body oder. I was given a disgusting ripped basket to place my clothes in, that had dust and filth inside of it. Really not a good scene.
The massage was mediocre at best, and short. Only 50 min, even though I'm paying for a 60 min service. It was best described as clinical, not relaxing, and the worst part for some damn reason the masseuse placed a ice cold wet towel on my back at the end of the massage. Amazingly careless.
After leaving the room I was offered small glass of room temperature water, if only it was cold like the room, or the towel.
After some reflection, I called a day later asking for a refund. I was told, the owner has to make that call, and well he will call me. I explained the situation, and it seemed that the person I spoke with was very understanding, and a refund would be given.
Several days later, no phone call from the owner, I called again, and the same person told me, oh we assumed you spoke with the owner, we will remind him again.
2 hours later I hear from the owner. This guy then proceeds to make an excuse about how busy he was and forgot to call. I explain my request for a refund, and he proceeds to argue with me, saying he was watching the service on the security cameras, and I checked in late, and I only waited a few min. Not true, I was on time, and waited 30 min. He admitted the massage was short. No apology! What's more distributing is apparently you are being watched by this creep show while you are getting your services done. I guess he has hidden cameras in the place. Interesting. I'm not sure if that's legal, and it's certainly disgusting and weird. I was offered 10% off a future service. I declined this offer. I was more in shock that apparently I was being watched at this place.
Stay away. There are many other options in Rehoboth with much more professional staff, and nicer experience. I will not recommend, or retain any future services from this establishment.

The Avenue Apothecary & Spa is attached to the Avenue Inn, where we stay when we're in Rehoboth. When you walk into the spa, you immediately feel relaxed because of the calming music and incredible, smoothing smells. I had only one treatment - an express pedicure - but I honestly did not feel as if it were a modified version. It cost $55, which I believe was not too expensive, considering I expected a mark-up at a beach-town spa. I arrived early and sat in the meditation room, enjoying a cup of coffee and a magazine. The staff are terrific. The spa is an oasis for me when we travel to the beach for a family vacation. I had, in the past, experienced a facial at the spa, which exposed me to the incredible Eminence products. There is a coupon for 10% off a spa product from the store in one of the magazines. Rehoboth to me means a stop at the Avenue Apothecary. The store has wonderful items, as well, including jewelry, CDs, etc.

Customer service was adequate. New staff needs to be better trained.
As for spa services, the quality differs widely depending on the technician. We were there for a girlfriends’ weekend and our experiences were 180 degrees different. I had Kaitlyn (pedicure) and Empress (facial), who are fantastic! My friend had a massage and a pedicure. Her technicians were subpar. Masseuse’s technique was awkward and the nail tech seemed rushed and inattentive.
Ambience was nice, but the distance between reception and the waiting area is awkward. Also, there is no locker room - only one shower.
I would return ... with my expectations adjusted based on this experience.

I spent an afternoon here with my wife as a way to just disconnect and relax for a little bit. We had the couple's massage package, and added a pedicure to the day as well.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We didn't find a sour staff member in the whole bunch, and we felt like we were very important to them. Love that.
We were taking right back to a seating area where we were offered something to drink and to fill out some paperwork. As soon as that was completed, we were taken to the pool area, where we had our hour of just relaxing by the pool with chocolates and champagne. The pool is at The Avenue Hotel up on the third floor, so it's not just for the spa to use. Not a huge deal, but the pool was pretty busy yesterday with families / kids. We still enjoyed the hour of doing absolutely nothing! It's just not totally quiet, either. Besides the pool, there is a hot tub, sauna, and steam room. It was a nice hour.
On to the massage. The room was very quiet, the lights were dim, the aromatherapy was good, and we had an excellent session. Both therapists were very good, and we had an excellent session. We did not opt for any of the add-on services.
Finally, on to the pedicure. This is the one spot where we really felt that the day was a bit off. Again, the two ladies were very pleasant and the session wasn't bad, but it felt a bit rushed. There were two others in the room waiting for their turn, and our technicians kept checking the clock. I'm not sure we even got a full half-hour, and compared to pedicures we've gotten at nail salons, this was not nearly as "relaxing." I'm normally offered a clear coating on mine at the end, and I did not receive that. We both felt this was probably the one place that wasn't worth the money that was spent for the day.
Would we be back? Overall, yes, we'd be back. We'd certainly do the package again, or at least the massage for couples part. I'm not sure we'd do the pedicure part again though.

We went for the couples massage, which was very relaxing. We both have experienced lots of massages (especially on vacations), and we were very happy with the quality of their massages. There was a bit of noise now and again (occasional voices or bumps against walls adjacent to ours... seems like the walls are a bit thin), but it wasn't overly distracting. Someone more sensitive to noise might find it a teensy bit annoying, maybe? The atmosphere of the spa was calming. Definitely would go back!

Thank you for your review and constructive comments. I apologize that you heard some noise during your couples massage. The wall of the couples room backs up to the Avenue Hotel's Breakfast room. I will surely remind the staff there to try and be more aware of the noise during those morning appointments times. I am happy you were still able to enjoy your massages. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

My facial was fantastic. Regine was great and very attentive to my needs, The experience overall was very positive and I didn't really mind the up-selling to add treatments and a more expensive facial. What is most annoying is the after-facial product pitch. I have had so many facials in my life and see a dermatologist regularly. I really do not need any more spas pitching their products. It was not until afterward that I realized that the product that Refgine was trying to sell me was actually makeup, which I do not wear and do not want. After having such a cleansing and beautiful facial, I was appalled to find out that she had smothered me with make-up. I would return to the spa, but would hope to avoid the after-facial product pitch.

We're so happy to hear that you loved your facial experience with Regine! We pride ourselves on providing top-notch services with only the best all-natural and organic products. After a facial treatment it is certainly common that your aesthetician would show you the skin care products used during your treatment. Regine, or any of the outstanding aestheticians here certainly are not meaning to "product-pitch." Rather, they are trying to provide honest, helpful product recommendations from high quality organic companies that you may not be aware of. The make-up you are referring to, is actually not make-up at all. The product used and recommended was an organic mineral powder sunscreen with an SPF of 30. Every single client who receives a facial at our day spa leaves with some sort of SPF protection on for their own benefit and safety. While she certainly could have used a cream SPF instead of the powder, the product used was in no way damaging to the beautiful facial you had just received. We certainly understand that the products and companies that we know and love are not going to be the products that everyone uses. We only attempt to spread knowledge of safer product usage. I hope that you now better understand where we are coming from in terms of our product recommendations, and hope that you return to the spa in the future for another fantastic facial! Thank you!

This spa is amazing! From the front desk to the therapists, the staff is very friendly and professional. The spa is a tranquil retreat from everyone's hectic life. The therapists are amazing. Obviously very knowledgable in the latest massage techniques. They are without a doubt concerned about their clients needs and expectations. My friends and I visit this area every year and after searching for the best day spa found this one. Now we go no where else!
