Enjoy the Challenge
Apr 2021
This is not your typical miniature golf course with a straight shot to the hole. This course has some challenge to it and requires some concentration and skill. The theme of the course is adorable. It is very busy with beach decorations but the decor provides a lot of visual stimulation as you wait your turn. We were not disappointed in this course considering the $10 per person price tag. It was fun and we would return

Fun Fun Fun!!

Husband & I went on a Monday morning before it got too hot. There are some very challenging holes here! We played a second 18 hole round and still didn’t have a hole in one. It’s a cute tropical theme and everything was in good working order except for some leaves on the greens. It was off season so no big deal. Wish we had a course like this at home. I recommend it for a fun time. It was worth the price.

Overpriced, dimly lit, crowded
Aug 2019 • Family
We still had fun on this family outing, but the course is dimly lit and hard to see at night. It was a challenging course which is nice, but people with small children or lacking skill, back up in front of you. There are several areas that need maintenance as mentioned in other reviews. Considering all these issues, it is extremely overpriced at $10 per person. Their coupons are very deceptive too (essentially useless unless you comeback and play a second time).

Break from the Hot Sun!
May 2019 • Couples
A great escape from the heat! The majority of this course is in the shade of real trees. Mini-golf is a great activity for new couples or friends, and this one is a great escape from the heat. We also like Ryan's Mini-Golf on the boardwalk, but that course has no shade. At $10/person the price is reasonable.

Play at night when it's hot for an added challenge, but fix a couple holes up
Jul 2019 • Friends
The Rehoboth Beach area doesn't have a ton of miniature golf courses, but in terms of overall course challenge, this is the best. It may be a bit more expensive than the oceanfront rooftop experience, but it's mostly worth the added obstacles, hills, and presentation lining the course, where each hole has a unique theme attached to it. My one issue was that the 12th hole was set up where you are supposed to hit the ball into a creek, which would then allow it to come out on the other side toward the green, but I found that the turf forced balls to get stuck, forcing you to either hit it over some obstacles, or in the case of what we did, roll it down a la Skee Ball. There was another hole on the front nine that also seemed to have balls stuck when you try to get it through a log. That said, we went on the 4th of July, but since Rehoboth has their fireworks on the 3rd and we played around traditional fireworks time, it wasn't terribly crowded, with some going to Lewes or Ocean City to see the real fireworks, or staying home to watch them on the TV. It was humid, but there are a couple holes where you can cool off thanks to a mist machine, and this can come in handy on a hot day, where you'll also find an ice cream stand at the "clubhouse area", which contains a unique selection of marine-theme merchandise. Otherwise, the holes have a reasonable difficulty curve, from the large cup at the 1st to warm you up, to the deceptively easy yet frustrating challenging 17th due to a steep grade.

Best 10 spent at the beach
Jun 2019
You can spend quite a bit of money at the beach--any beach--but the $10 per person spent at Shell We Golf cannot be beat for fun and beautiful surroundings. Wish they gave military discounts, but they do reward honor roll kids and allow people to walk the park for free, which can be enjoyable. They also have benches to rest. The course is somewhat challenging and lots of hills and water features.

At Least The Pencils Were Sharp
May 2019 • Family
While vacationing in Rehobeth Beach Delaware this past Memorial Day weekend, we decided to go mini golfing with our two daughters who are home from graduate school. We picked Shell We Golf because we had seen it on the road and had a good experience there a few years ago. That has all changed now. When we arrived, we were greeted by a price sign that had the former price taped over with a handwritten new price of $10.00 per person per play, which I believe to be extremely high for mini-golf, even at a resort location. After some discussion amongst ourselves,, we decided to play anyway.

We began at the first hole and noticed immediately that the courses were dark (this was at night) and the lighting on the greens and especially around the holes was very poor and very shadowy. It almost seemed as if lights were out, which they may have been. The greens were lumpy and erratic, which took any skill out of the play whatsoever. At hole number 4 or 5, where the ball needed to be putted into a slot in a rock, the ball wouldn't come out the other end. We had to get down and push the balls out only to notice that the carpet was detached and pulled up inside, causing the balls to get stuck. This happened once again later in the course as well. While the course cannot help the slow nature of some patrons when they choose to dilly dally at each hole and even play more than 6 strokes per person, the backup became extreme at one point will all of the groups in front of us having to sit on benches for an extended period. Perhaps if there was someone on the course to reinforce the rules and keep people moving, this might have helped. But again, I don't blame that entirely on the course.

When we finally finished the 18 holes, one of my daughters hit a hole in one on hole 19 and nothing happened. When we asked about that when we turned in our clubs, the man at the counter asked us if the bells went off when she scored the hole in one and we told him no. He shrugged and gave my daughter the free pass for another game in the future..

Again, one of the worst experiences of my 60 years playing miniature golf on what I believe is a poorly maintained course that is overcharging. Just the opinion of myself and my family, so if you choose Shell We Golf, I would suggest playing in the daytime when you can see the greens and the holes and when you can inspect for the condition of the greens and the lumps. It might help make the game more enjoyable. One positive note: The golf pencils were sharp.

2nd or 3rd time we’ve played here. A lot of fun and challenges. Price was $10 each and that evening there weren’t many other options. Price is high. $7 or $8 each or offer some coupons.
