Beautiful drive by on the way to the beach.

Heading South, away from Rehoboth Beach on the way to Dewey Beach, Silver Lake is a beautiful site surrounded by private homes.

If you want to take a great low impact bike ride pedal around Rehoboth’s famous Silver Lake. It is the largest of two natural lakes with a smaller sister Lake Getard north of town. There is ample bike lane around Silver Lake which makes for gorgeous vistas. Unfortunately the entire lake shoreline is private property but bike riding around is no problem. Walking the shoreline is not allowed. Enjoy nature and the lakes waterfowl all four seasons.

FABULOUS VIEWS

It is great to walk around the lake and enjoy the moment having a picnic or stop by for a drink and a bite to eat.

Calming place

The advantage of using a car to get around this area, it made visiting this lake a possibility. You need good walking shoes to circumnavigate the watery area. I was surprised that it was not very busy - although it was very windy on the day that I went. The ground level was fairly even - which suited me because I am not very keen on walking uphill!

Nice lake in the heart of beachd town
Dec 2018 • Solo
The Silver Lake is a small lake just a block from Rehoboth Beach South and is a nice break up area from the beach and the residence area of the town. One you cross this lake, It is the sign that you are in Dewey Beach. Visitors can walk and around to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the area. There are trees and houses around the lake, naturally the both docks are private. During fall and winter, you may be treated with fogs and birds floating quietly in the pond.

Stop By!
Aug 2018 • Couples
Rehoboth is so fortunate to have the ocean and a beautiful lake called Silver Lake! It is small, but so peaceful. It is very quiet around it. The only sounds you may hear are the birds. The lake is surrounded by beautiful homes. It's a great place to walk, especially in the evening, after it gets cooler. Or if you enjoy riding bikes, it is the perfect spot. Someone who lives near the lake put out some fake coyotes, which look very lifelike, to scare off the geese. We thought that was a great idea and seemed to be working! If you are at Rehoboth, stop by Silver Lake!
