As you may know, or have heard, Delaware has tax-free shopping. The outlets provide a nice break from the beach or something to do on a rainy day. The outlets span three shopping centers on Rt. 1. Traffic and parking can become hairy when they’re busy. We saw two accidents in the same location (once on our way in and again on our way out.)
We visited when the outlets reopened during the COVID-19 pandemic. The stores had hand sanitizer available and monitored the number of customers entering. There were lines to enter some of the more popular stores, i.e. Justice, J. Crew. Fitting rooms were closed. I don’t know how great the prices are but it’s a nice reprieve from the sun and sand.

I am not a big shopper, but went here on a rainy day. Big crowds in early December doing Christmas shopping. The mall is massive as it extends to three different areas. Some of the stores wer mehh in terms of selection, but was toked to find a LaCoste store that had solid prices so this made the trip well worth it. Enjoyed the tax free shopping as well.

Expansive offering of stores with top manufacturers and designers, heavily weighted towards apparel. (Would like to see a greater selection of non-clothing offerings). Tanger rewards shopper-loyalty, so check in at mall outlet offices for Tanger coupon books and deals. Know your quality and prices, but you can expect some terrific bargains here. We're regulars!

Came here to get some items that are needed. During the pandemic season, my friend and I decided to do our homework: check the store hours, know what we want, zip in and zip out. Unfortunately, the business hours posted online (google map) was one hour earlier than the actual opening time. A good strategy is to call them one day ahead and ask them about store hours.
We got what we needed. Stores enforced mask policy and capacity limitation. We felt safe.

These outlets are great, but are lacking home stores. They would benefit greatly by adding Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn & West Elm outlet stores—especially with all of the house new & established here at the beach!
Also, very disappointed to see are Essentials and Lancôme outlets leave. Not surprising that sales decreased significantly during
the pandemic and mask wearing months but could sure use them now that things are beginning to normalize again!

We always plan to spend a day here since it's rare that you find name brand outlets in a tax free setting. The only thing not to like is that they are so spread out, which is the reason it takes so much time. But, when you're on vacation, what's the hurry??!!

We were disappointed to learn that several of the stores are closing, specifically Van Heusen and Bass. The Bass store looks like it is closing very soon whereas Van Heusen is supposed to close after the new year. We went into many shops. In some you could try on clothes, Lucky Jeans and Vanity Fair, to be specific. Other stores still had their dressing rooms closed but you could return clothes. It really depends on what you are looking for. You might find it here, at least, it is tax-free. Stores are still not on pre-pandemic hours.

Always a fun way to burn off several hours if at Ocean City and you want great shopping. You pass the beaches and its great to stop off for lunch before the 3 malls. Some stores have closed but many are still there. So select which of the three you want to visit and hit the stores. Its nice when no taxes are on your Bill.

Mall Layout: The key item to note is that the outlet consists of 3 different sections in 3 different physical locations along route 1. The Midway section and Bayside are on the same side witih the 'Seaside' section on the opposite. Note that the distance between Midway and Seaside is almost 2 miles. There is a Tanger trolley between locations (but I have never tried it). You should ask guest services about the schedule.
Parking: Everytime I stopped by, there was plenty of parking in all 3 sections.
Selection: Lots of shops - around 130 according to the brochure. Since stores are spread among 3 locations (e.g. kids clothes is not all in one location), you might want to plan your stops in order to maximize your efficiency. Check the web site for store locations. In general, we have always found a good selection from the usual suspects (particularly childrens' ware, footware and men's apparel in particular). There is an absence of high end retail, but store selection is still sufficient.
Discounts: You can check with guest services or on the web for current promotions and sign up for their Tanger membership as well (for a one time fee) which provides you with a coupon book on arrival. The coupons are a little hit and miss. Some have certain restrictions so you might not be able to use them.
Overall: If you are in the area, the selection and tax free status are the attraction. I have found that in-stock selection varies so you can not expect all of the availability all of the time (e.g. for a shoe size), but still worth checking it out. Since you already know what the local prices are in your area, if you find they are better at Tanger, it was time well spent.

Most of the bars are not exclusively gay and pretty mixed. But you will probably find a lot of gay guys in Aqua, purple parrot and the Pond.

Is there any points of interest near the Lewes ferry terminal?

There are points of interest near the Lewes Ferry Terminal, depending on if you are walking, driving, renting a bike from the Ferry, or taking bus/shuttle.
For walking, you have Henlopen State Park (old war sights, beach, and hiking.) You can also walk to Lewes Beach, a mile or less, and there are some eateries nearby (On The Rocks at The Ferry Terminal, and others near Lewes Beach and up the road from Lewes Beach, as well as Lewes itself.)
Those same places if you rent a bike, and you can ride the bike about 4-6 miles further to the Tanger Outlets, but bring a lock and chain, or ride the bike or hike from The Ferry Terminal thru Henlopen State Park to Rehoboth Beach (about 4-6 miles ) and all the restaurants shopping and amusements there.
The Ferry Shuttle definitely takes you to the Bus Terminal on Route 1 where you can get busses to Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, Fenwick, and Ocean City, Maryland, but I am not sure about a shuttle to Tanger. The Ferry can answer about that, or call Tanger.

If you are coming to the Lewes ferry terminal you have about 5-6 miles to the first outlet on the right heading South.
