Beautiful course if you're into floral arrangements but if you're a golfer expecting a lot more for the ridiculous $145 Friday price tag you'll come away disappointed. An above average public venue with decent but slow greens, I could not recommend this course despite the attractive landscaping unless the price was fair. We played with a group of 15, many private club members, and all the others echoed my sentiments.

Really enjoyed my outing with my 16 year old son during our August family beach trip. Conditions were excellent throughout, the black tees were pretty challenging medium length hitters, and pace of play was just fine. Staff were pleasant and helpful throughout. And the plantings are as elaborate and beautiful as I've ever seen on a course. Fairly pricey but worth the cash. Will be back if we vacation there again.

someone needs to say it - Baywood Greens is a cart path only course!

i've been reading the reviews after i played it last Thursday and Friday. both CPO. the course was not wet.

i loved the track and it's worth the cost but i'd prefer they just be honest that they don't want people driving carts on their pristine grounds.

Overpriced. I was charged $30 more than the 3 some that I was put with. Something called dynamic pricing which is a rip off. If charging me an extra $30 because of when I booked means that much to them then screw it I'm never going back. Did I mention that their website was down and I called the pro shop directly?

The course itself was excellent with some unique features, including an island fairway providing a short cut to the hole, a great risk- reward hole. But the greatest aspect is the unbelievably beautiful landscaping and flowering around the course. Truly breathtaking. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Absolute gem.

My buddies and I loved this golf course. It is gorgeous! The landscaping is extraordinary. It is clear the grounds crews are committed to excellence. The owner has not cut any corners, and it is no surprise it is rated the best golf course in Delaware. There are colorful and beautiful flowers lining some of the holes. The fairways are in great shape. The greens are very well-maintained. The staff members we encountered were quite friendly, professional, and appreciative of our business. All four of us plan to return to Baywood Greens as soon as we get the opportunity.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Baywood looks spectacular but it left something to be desired. We were told that we had to stay on the cart path for 2 holes. After hole number 1 the Marshall came to tell us that we had to stay on the cart path for all 18 holes. To make matters worse, the greens had been aerated two days prior to our golf outing. The greens were in horrible shape with the plugs all over the greens. To make matter worse, we had to work around the maintenance crew rather than the other way around. Why we weren't told about the conditions of the greens when we booked is a mystery. Why the maintenance crew has no golf etiquette is a mystery. I regret we did not ask for some compensation.

Of course this is a spectacular course but how carcinogenic. It does not look this way because of natures way of making flowers and plants grow. Have played here many times but NO MORE! There was a Spruce Cent surrounding us and we thought maybe someone was using BENGAY, but the culprit was at the next hole. A massive vehicle riding during prime hours of golf spraying the grounds. We all decided to STOP and never come back. Players should be made aware of this or DON'T DO IT DURING PLAY TIME..Not that it would matter any less.

I played this course twice last year, and was extremely impressed both times. It's an impressive facility and a beautiful golf course. The layout was good, the holes were mostly very fair, the highly touted floral landscaping throughout was impressive, and the conditions and maintenance were what you'd expect for a $100+ course (even though several of the employees weren't the friendliest people in the world). My recent experience, on the other hand, was an enormous disappointment for my buddies and myself, and we had soooo looked forward to this day. We had already decided we were going to come back 5 or 6 times this summer and fall, even though it's a very long drive for us. We carried our own bags to the cart area, where two gentlemen grabbed them and put them onto golf carts. I didn't have any singles, so I tipped him $5 for lifting the clubs two feet, and he didn't say thank you. Really? Five bucks for lifting clubs two feet, and you don't say thank you? We went into the pro shop, and a very nice young man took good care of us, probably the only highlight of our day. We teed off around 9:30 (on a weekday), and from the second hole to the 18th hole, we had to contend with mowers and weed whackers and maintenance worker distractions on nearly every hole. I have no issue with maintenance workers doing their work (I used to be a golf course maintenance worker), but on every course I've ever played, the worker always gives way to the player. Not on this day! On one hole, three maintenance workers were mowing the sizable area between the fringe and the bunkers with push mowers, and the flagstick happened to be right behind them, only about 15' from the fringe. All 3 of us waited, and waited, and waited as they looked right at us and continued to mow every square foot of that sizable area. We looked over and watched the marshall, who stared at the workers and waited and waited and waited. . . and did nothing. We continued to stand with our hands on our hips (usually a signal), waiting to hit our approach shots from 130 yards or so. Finally, the Marshall said, "Go ahead and hit." My buddy hit his shot about two inches from one worker's nose. On almost every hole, workers continued to mow with big fairway mowers and gang mowers and loud push mowers and loud weed whackers while we tried to play golf. On my favorite hole, I waited on the tee box while several fairway mowers kept right on mowing . . . and mowing . . . and mowing. Since the group behind us was about to catch us, I went ahead and hit, and the last mower drove right over my ball (on one of the few I hit long and straight that day). Then, the workers actually pulled over to the rough and turned off the motors, so I thought they were finally getting a clue. As soon as I addressed my ball for my approach shot, one worker started his mower and proceeded to drive right in front of us. Seriously?? I was upset, but my buddy was even more upset. He said right then and there that he'll never go back to this course that I had bragged so much about. And while the tee boxes and roughs were generally fantastic, we found the fairways and greens to be mediocre this year as compared to last year. And other than the 18th hole, the flowers and landscaping weren't nearly as impressive this year. Maybe they had some budget cuts on the flowers. Who knows? Not a big deal. Another issue is the smell on some holes. I don't know if it's nearby chicken farms or a sewage problem on the course itself, but there was a stretch of 3 or 4 holes on this hot muggy day that had an almost unbearable smell. If that's out of their control, we certainly can't fault them for the smell, but the loud mowers and maintenance workers pretty much ruined our golf day. When we finished our round, my buddy mentioned it to the man that started cleaning our clubs, and his immediate reply was "what do you expect from damn Guatemalans?" That really pissed me off, since my son is of Latin descent, but I again bit my tongue. When the guy in the pro shop asked how our round went, I politely asked him if today was unusual, or if every day was like this, he said that's why the course is as good as it is, or something to that effect. I thought his reply was kind of arrogant, so I said that I've never played a course where workers don't give way to golfers, and that it's better for the golfers and it's better for the pace of play if they give way. He said he would mention it to the head greens keeper, but it obviously didn't seem to bother him as much as it did us. All in all, we were very disappointed with our day at Baywood Greens, and I don't expect that we'll be back anytime soon. There are just too many good golf courses in that area. For $109 on a Thursday, it should be a REALLY enjoyable day of golf, and it was FAR from enjoyable on this particular day.

They were unwilling to make a real meal for me and I had to order sides which were really tasty but seriously this is a pretty high class place where meals are a little pricey. My food came out cold and my drink was not what I ordered. Even dessert was disappointing I couldn't eat it. This is not what I expected from here.
